At the reception, Speaker of the Czech House of Representatives Adamová highly appreciated the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, including the relationship between the two countries' legislative bodies, which has developed increasingly positively, demonstrated through the frequency of delegation exchanges at all levels in recent times. The increased exchange of delegations by the two sides' leaders also affirms the political determination and efforts to promote bilateral relations to new heights.
Ms. Markéta Pekarová Adamová emphasized that the two sides still have much room for cooperation in the fields of economics - trade - investment, culture, and need to fully exploit the advantages, potential for tourism cooperation and favorable geographical location of the two countries; hoping that the two countries will soon realize the opening of direct flights to promote trade, investment cooperation, people-to-people exchange and meet the expectations of the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic.
She also highly appreciated the contributions of the Vietnamese community in recent times to the socio-economic development of the Czech Republic. Ms. Adamová affirmed that the Czech Parliament, Government and people are very proud of the decision to recognize the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic as an ethnic minority of this country. Based on that good political relationship, the Speaker of the House of Representatives proposed that the two sides soon promote parliamentary diplomatic cooperation, especially strengthening cooperation mechanisms and dialogue between specialized committees and friendship parliamentarians' groups of the two countries and closely coordinate and support each other at regional and international forums such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), the Asia-Europe Parliamentary Partnership (ASEP)...
Ambassador Duong Hoai Nam expressed his gratitude to the Czech House of Representatives and the Speaker of the House of Representatives for always attaching importance to and actively supporting efforts to further deepen relations with Vietnam. Referring to the areas in which the two sides need to promote cooperation in the coming time, the Ambassador shared the Speaker of the House of Representatives' assessment of the need to further strengthen parliamentary cooperation between Vietnam and the Czech Republic, especially as the two countries are looking towards the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (1950 - 2025). The Ambassador affirmed that the potential for cooperation between the two countries is huge, especially in areas where both sides have strengths and needs such as education - training, skilled labor development, renewable energy, green transformation, digital transformation, etc.
Ambassador Duong Hoai Nam requested the Czech Republic's House of Representatives and the Chairwoman herself to pay attention and urge the European Commission (EC) to soon remove the IUU "yellow card" on Vietnamese seafood to support the sustainable development of the seafood industry.
At the end of the meeting, the Ambassador reiterated the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue to Speaker of the House of Representatives Markéta Pekarová Adamová to visit Vietnam; hoped that the Speaker would support the establishment of the Vietnamese Cultural Center in Prague and continue to create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to develop, deeply integrate into the host society and promote its role as a bridge of friendship between the two countries.
