On September 19, Mr. Le Van Thanh, Director of the Land Fund Development Center of Hau Giang province, said that 100% of the site has been completed and handed over to the contractor for the construction of the North-South Expressway project in the East phase 2021-2025, Can Tho - Ca Mau section (Can Tho - Ca Mau Expressway) through the province.
Construction site of Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway through Hau Giang province.
"For the project, we have completed the site clearance. However, recently, the investor, My Thuan Project Management Board, has expanded a few locations, plans to build rest stops and design additional drainage systems in some places.
The investor has just handed over the site clearance markers to the Land Fund Development Center at these points. This site clearance will be carried out according to the new law, so it is expected to start at the end of the year," the Director of the Land Fund Development Center added.
The Can Tho - Ca Mau Expressway is over 110km long. Of which, over 63km passes through Hau Giang province, with 2,067 households affected. The total land area that needs to be recovered is over 361ha.
According to the report, 100% of the site has been handed over so far. In case any problems arise during the construction process, Hau Giang province will be responsible for continuing to coordinate and resolve them.
Regarding the relocation of technical infrastructure works, the clearance scope of highway projects does not affect the foundations of high-voltage power lines, so there is no need to relocate.
The land under the high-voltage line is used by local people and has been previously compensated and handed over, so it does not affect construction.
However, according to the design, the height of these lines must be increased to ensure safety for traffic after the highway projects are completed and put into operation.
Up to now, 2/7 lines still need to be raised in height. Expected to be completed in September 2024.
Can Tho - Ca Mau Expressway is over 110km long, with a total investment of over VND 27,500 billion, started construction in January 2023, and is expected to be completed in 2025.
According to data recorded in August 2024, the project reached 37% of the contract value.
