Can Tho renovates sidewalks, repairs bridges and roads to welcome the new year 2025

13 roads have had their sidewalks renovated, and many roads leading to bridges in the center of Can Tho are also being repaired in time to welcome the new year 2025.

At the end of the year, the sidewalks of many central streets in Can Tho City were renovated and repaired, and some streets and roads at both ends of the bridge were also fenced off for patching and compensation.

According to Mr. Huynh Trung Tru, Chairman of Ninh Kieu District People's Committee, the district is implementing the renovation and upgrading of sidewalks from local investment capital, medium term 2021-2025. These are sidewalks that have been used for more than 20 years, only repaired, not upgraded or renovated.

There are 13 streets with sidewalks repaired during this period, including: Nguyen Trai, Ly Tu Trong, Phan Van Tri, Nguyen Khuyen, De Tham, Quang Trung, Ngo Quyen, Phan Dinh Phung, Tran Quoc Toan, Thu Khoa Huan, Ly Thuong Kiet, Ngo Gia Tu and Hoa Binh Boulevard.

Currently, the sidewalks of De Tham and Nguyen Khuyen streets have been completed, while the sidewalks of Nguyen Trai and Ly Tu Trong streets are under construction.

The Chairman of Ninh Kieu District People's Committee said that he has urged the contractor to complete the construction before December 25. The remaining roads will start construction after Tet so as not to affect people's shopping and celebrating Tet.

The renovation of about 1.2km of sidewalk (600m on each side) of Nguyen Trai Street is expected to be completed before December 25.

Along with sidewalk renovation, manhole repairs and water pipe replacements are also being carried out in parallel.

Sidewalk on Ly Tu Trong street, this is a major road with heavy traffic, concentrated with many beauty salons and company headquarters.

A section of Nguyen Trai sidewalk and the entire sidewalk of De Tham street have been completed.

The sidewalk on Nguyen Khuyen Street has been completed. The sidewalks on other streets will be constructed after the Lunar New Year 2025 so as not to affect people's shopping.

Route 30/4, the section through Hung Loi ward, has been excavated in some sections and is now completed.

Tran Van Hoai Street also has its median strip upgraded to plant more ornamental trees and create a landscape.

Ninh Kieu Bridge has completed subsidence of the road at both ends of the bridge, making traffic easier.

The Dau Sau Bridge connecting 3/2 and Pham Hung streets has also finished settling, and workers are completing the final items such as painting road markings.
