The biggest boat race on the Han River ever

On March 30, on the Han River (Da Nang City), a traditional boat race took place to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Da Nang City (March 29, 1975 - March 29, 2025).

The race brings together 22 racing boat teams with nearly 500 athletes from Da Nang City and Quang Nam Province.

The teams compete in the 7.5km men's boat and 4.5km women's boat.

From very early morning, thousands of people gathered on both banks of the Han River, from the Han River Bridge to the Dragon Bridge, to cheer for the racing teams.

From the shore to the water, there were enthusiastic fans cheering.

As soon as the starting signal was given, the racing teams began to accelerate, the boats rushing down the river. On the shore, thousands of people shouted and cheered the athletes.

According to the leader of the Da Nang City People's Committee, the 2025 Da Nang City traditional boat race is not only a sports competition but also an opportunity to review the history and cultural traditions of the nation.

The boats rushing along with the strong movements of the athletes, besides recalling beautiful memories, also demonstrate the strength, will and determination to move forward of the people of Da Nang City.
