According to Thairath newspaper, FAT is currently in a difficult situation after losing the lawsuit against Siam Sports.

Madam Pang said she will sue former FAT President Somyot Poompanmoung.

It is known that FAT must pay 50,000 Baht (equivalent to 37.7 million VND) in interest every day. This is an obligation that FAT must fulfill according to the court's decision in the lawsuit with Siam Sports - the former copyright owner of Thai League.

This means that if FAT does not quickly pay off the debt to Siam Sports, each month it will have to pay an additional 1.5 million Baht in interest (equivalent to 1.13 billion VND).

But Madam Pang and FAT at this time do not accept the debt of up to 360 million Baht (equivalent to 272 billion VND) after losing the lawsuit against Siam Sports.

On the contrary, Madam Pang also said she will sue former FAT President Somyot Poompanmoung - the person who directly canceled the Thai League copyright exploitation contract with Siam Sports.

In 2001, Siam Sport signed an agreement with FAT that they would enjoy 95% of the profits and bear all financial risks when exploiting the television copyright of Thai League (Thai National Championship).

The contract was later extended until 2025 under FAT President Worawi Makudi.

But in 2016, Mr. Somyot Poompanmoung became FAT President and said that the contract with Siam Sport was unfair because FAT only received 5% of the profits.

Mr. Somyot then decided to cancel the contract. Therefore, Siam Sport sued FAT and won.
