Sharing with the press, a female school official (who asked to remain anonymous) said that her family had to mortgage their land book to get 100 million VND to cover living expenses, pay for their children's education... For the past 6 months, the school has not paid their salaries, and the whole family has fallen into poverty.

"I don't dare borrow more money from anyone. The school has made repeated promises but so far nothing has been done," said a school official. The official sighed, "Now we just have to grit our teeth and wait, there's nothing we can do."
The female officer said that she has a child studying at university in Ho Chi Minh City, spending about 10 million VND per month on her child, but the family did not dare tell anyone about the loan and mortgage of the land book.
This officer also said that recently, many officers and teachers of the school have withdrawn their savings to spend, many lecturers have also mortgaged their land books like him because of the difficulties. The lecturers love the students, they just know how to "tighten their belts" to teach.
"Just thinking about the students without anyone to teach and guide them, the teachers couldn't bear to leave them, so everyone encouraged each other until today. We thought that the school would arrange to transfer salaries to the staff, but until now all the promises are still just empty promises," the female officer shared.
After working with the school leaders, the staff and lecturers were promised that this December they would receive a portion of their salary to ease their difficulties.
Mr. Huynh Tan Tuan - Principal of Quang Nam Medical College - admitted that the delay in salary payment made the school's staff and lecturers upset.
According to Mr. Tuan, after the meeting on December 15, the school and staff and lecturers agreed to continue working until December 31.
Previously, on December 12, the school worked with the People's Committee of Quang Nam province and other levels to propose a solution to temporarily postpone the deduction of the school's annual budget in 2023 and the period 2023-2025.
Regarding the debt of more than 5.7 billion VND in salaries of 114 staff and lecturers, the Principal of Quang Nam Medical College said that the school's budget estimate at the beginning of the year was unreasonable.
Previously, the school was assigned an average student quota by the Provincial People's Committee.
Specifically, the school's annual budget is 8.5 billion VND. The revenue from nearly 500 students is 3 billion VND. The total is more than 11 billion VND. After deducting the budget of 3.8 billion VND, the remaining amount is not enough to cover salary expenses. The school has proposed to the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee for support plans.
Previously, on December 14, 17 staff and lecturers of the school sent a notice of collective resignation to the school leaders. These staff members belong to the Nursing Department and the Basic Health Department of Quang Nam Medical College.
The notice of resignation began on December 18. The reason given by the staff and lecturers was that the school had not paid their salaries and allowances for 6 months, from July until now.
During this period of unpaid wages, because they do not want to affect students' studies, staff and lecturers still go to school to work.
