According to the National Technical Regulation QCVN 122:2024 issued by the Ministry of Transport (now the Ministry of Construction), common errors in the main brake that cause the vehicle to skid include: The brake pedal shaft does not have enough clamping details, loose room; the shaft rotates too tightly, jams; the bearing, shaft is loose; the brake pedal is not installed firmly, cracked, warped; the pedal does not return correctly when the brake is released, there is no free travel, travel reserve; there is no anti-slip effect on the brake pedal are common errors that cause the vehicle to skid the brake inspection item; the pipe is not installed firmly, there are traces of rubbing against other parts of the vehicle; the connection area is leaking; the hard pipe is cracked, cracked, rusted; the soft pipe is cracked, blistered.

Or the brake cylinder is not the right type, not installed firmly; cracked, broken, deformed; leaking; not enough clamping parts, loose room. The brake valves are not installed properly, not firmly; damaged, leaking. For parking brakes (handbrakes), when checking the control mechanism, errors that cause the car to slip include: With traditional mechanical brakes, if the parking brake control pedal or pedal is not the correct type, not securely installed; warped; the brake does not work. With electronic brakes, if the brake valve, parking brake control button is not the correct type, not securely installed; the control part is cracked or broken; the valve, control button does not work properly; the connections are loose, there is a leak in the system; does not work when opening and closing.

When checking the parking brake drive, if the cable, pull rod, push rod, and installation connections are not secure; there are traces of rubbing against other parts of the vehicle; the cable is broken, knotted, stuck, loose, or lacks a tight clamping detail and the loose compartment is also the reason why the car fails the inspection.

In addition to checking the above details, the inspector also runs the vehicle on a test bench to check the operation and efficiency of the main brake as well as the parking brake.

With the main brake, the case of the braking force not acting on one or more wheels; abnormal changes or abnormal slowness in the operation of the braking mechanism on any wheel are dangerous failures; meanwhile, the coefficient of deviation between the wheels on the same axle or the entire vehicle not meeting the standards are important failures, all of which need to be fixed immediately to ensure safety as well as pass inspection.

With parking brakes, if there is no braking effect on one wheel when tested on the test bench, the car will also fail the brake test and fail the vehicle inspection.
