8 young Vietnamese talents win tickets to La Liga

On April 13, the final leg of the Next Gen Draft global youth talent journey - an initiative from EA SPORTS FC FUTURES and La Liga - took place at Gia Dinh Stadium. The program aims to find and develop young football talents around the world .

After 3 days of exciting competition with nearly 200 children participating in the 5v5 format, the 8 best faces (4 males, 4 females) were announced to be selected to go to Spain in June 2025.

The selected young talents will train at the La Liga Academy according to international standards and methods and compete with the youth teams of La Liga teams. The selected young strikers are Hoang Tuan Kiet, Nguyen Cong Tien, Duong Trong Duy, Nguyen Chi Hung (male); Nguyen Hong Anh, Tran Ngoc Truc Linh, Le Thi Hong Thai, Nguyen Khanh Bang (female).

Along with the results announced, La Liga representatives highly appreciated young Vietnamese players. They believe that the tournament is not only an opportunity to develop skills, but also a launching pad to transfer the quintessence of international football to the young generation of Vietnam, contributing to raising the level of Vietnamese football.

Ruben Cano, an expert from La Liga, part of the Next Gen Draft program, shared: "We are looking for representatives of Asian football, especially Vietnam, where we appreciate characteristics such as the ability to play flexibly on both wings, along with the speed to take advantage of both short and long spaces.

In addition, we pay special attention to the psychological factor and in Vietnam, we have found players who stand out for their discipline and enthusiasm. This will be the key factor for them to meet the strict requirements of activities in Spain."

With the results announced, the project achieved its expectations with this event, finding the "final pieces" to complete the lineup that had been built from 5 other tournaments around the world.

The event in Ho Chi Minh City of Next Gen Draft marked the final stop in a global journey of 5 cities spanning 3 continents: Rustenburg, South Africa (March 1-2); New York, USA (March 8-9); Dubai, UAE (March 27-28); Guatemala City, Guatemala (April 5-6); Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (April 11-13).
