Binh Phuoc: Raising awareness in forest protection and development associated with ecotourism

On the afternoon of April 16, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Binh Phuoc Provincial People's Committee Tran Tuyet Minh chaired a meeting to listen to a report on the progress of the project on Management, Development and Improvement of Forest Economic Efficiency Associated with Tourism in Binh Phuoc Province for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030.

The Project on Management, Development and Improvement of Forest Economic Efficiency Associated with Tourism Development in Binh Phuoc Province for the 2021-2025 Period, with a Vision to 2030, was approved by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 08/QD-UBND dated January 2, 2024. Of the total 20 tasks of the project, 8 have been implemented, 6 are regular tasks of the forestry sector being implemented under the Sustainable Forestry Development Program for the 2021-2025 Period, and 6 coordinated tasks are being implemented.

According to the assessment, the implementation of the project helps to synchronize the management, protection and development of forests. The boundaries of 3 types of forests, the boundaries of forest owners on the map and in the field are basically determined. The management capacity of forest owners is gradually improved. Forests are sustainably managed in terms of area and quality, conserving the forest ecosystem in association with the reasonable use of the natural ecological environment potential of the forest to organize ecotourism and sustainable environmentaleducation . Raising people's awareness in forest protection and development associated with ecotourism.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Tuyet Minh said that the project has many important meanings but the implementation progress is still slow, and there are not many specific products. Therefore, the Department of Agriculture and Environment is required to continue to promote its role as chair, consultant, coordinator, and guide to effectively implement the project. Relevant agencies and units, according to their functions and tasks, review the implementation results of their units, have specific plans and solutions to speed up the implementation progress. In particular, do not delay the progress of project implementation because of the arrangement, organization of the apparatus, and merger of administrative units.
