Accordingly, for the bridge over the Dong Nai River connecting with Ring Road 3 - Ho Chi Minh City, the starting point of the route will connect with Provincial Road 778B according to the planning (Long Hung - Phuoc Tan road). For the bridge connecting Bien Hoa city with Thu Duc city, the Department of Construction believes that Thu Duc city and Bien Hoa city are two dynamically developing localities, but the connectivity in socio-economic development has not been focused on. Currently, the two cities are separated by the Dong Nai River, from the existing Dong Nai Bridge to Dong Nai Bridge 2 (planned) with a river length of about 10km, it is necessary to study and add a connecting bridge between the two bridges above to enhance socio-economic development exchange.
According to the planning agreed by the Provincial People's Committee and Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Dong Nai 2 Bridge will connect from Ring Road 3 - Ho Chi Minh City at Go Cong intersection in Long Thanh My ward, Thu Duc city to provincial road 777B in Tam An commune, Long Thanh district.
Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai are separated by the rivers: Dong Nai, Long Tau, Dong Tranh and Thi Vai. Currently, Long Thanh bridge on the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway is the only bridge in operation that directly connects the two localities. Along with that, there are 2 other bridges connecting the two localities under construction: Nhon Trach bridge on Ring Road 3 - Ho Chi Minh City and Phuoc Khanh bridge on the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway.
In addition, three other bridges connecting the two localities have been included in the planning for implementation, including Dong Nai 2 Bridge, Phu My 2 Bridge and Cat Lai Bridge.
