According to information from the Ministry of Public Security, on April 15, Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang chaired a meeting with MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation. After returning to the Ministry of Public Security, MobiFone submitted to the Ministry of Public Security the organization and operation charter and submitted a dossier to the Prime Minister for approval of the Corporation as an enterprise directly serving national defense and security.

Regarding development strategy, implementing the direction of the Ministry of Public Security's leaders, MobiFone has a plan to build a Development Strategy for the period 2025-2030 and a vision to 2045, ensuring a comprehensive and accurate assessment of capacity, opportunities, challenges and shaping MobiFone's strategy and orientations in the new period.

MobiFone is building a project to restructure the organization in the direction of eliminating intermediary levels, forming business units according to provincial areas; building a specific mechanism to attract talented people and good experts in various fields to work for this enterprise to effectively fulfill its tasks in the coming time.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Luong Tam Quang said that the transfer of MobiFone to the Ministry of Public Security affirmed the special attention and care of the Party and State in developing this enterprise to contribute to the development of the security industry, promote the development of science and technology, and digital transformation of the Public Security sector in accordance with the spirit of Resolution 57 of the Politburo on scientific and technological breakthroughs, innovation and national digital transformation.

To carry out that task, Minister Luong Tam Quang suggested that the Corporation must focus on researching MobiFone's strengths to produce telecommunications and technology products that effectively serve business development and national interests.

In addition, Minister Luong Tam Quang emphasized that MobiFone must pay attention to building a legal corridor to ensure the operation of the Corporation in order to create favorable conditions and remove barriers and obstacles so that MobiFone can develop strongly, especially when MobiFone becomes a security enterprise.

Experts believe that MobiFone's transfer to the Ministry of Public Security is considered an important piece in the ecosystem of digital government, digital citizens, and digital society, with the strength of Project 06 being an important foundation in the country's digital transformation. When returning to the Ministry of Public Security, MobiFone will have more opportunities to develop infrastructure to meet the Government's requirements to develop digital infrastructure for digital government, digital economy, and digital society.

After the Government agreed to transfer MobiFone to the Ministry of Public Security, the telecommunications market will basically have 3 main enterprises: Viettel under the Ministry of National Defense, VNPT under the Ministry of Finance and MobiFone under the Ministry of Public Security. This is good for competition in the telecommunications market when the balance is relatively balanced.

Sharing with VietNamNet about this issue, Mr. Le Nam Thang, former Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, said that basically this conversion is still within the planning of the Ministry of Information and Communications issued since 2010. Transferring MobiFone to the Ministry of Public Security still forms the mobile market according to the strategy previously issued by the Ministry of Information and Communications.
