On July 17, Chairman of the People's Committee of District 11 (HCMC) Nguyen Tran Binh gave a bonus to the Criminal Police Team and the General Investigation Team of District 11 Police for their outstanding achievements in quickly solving two murder and robbery cases in the area.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Chairman of District 11 People's Committee Nguyen Tran Binh acknowledged and commended the Criminal Police Team, the General Investigation Team of District 11 Police; the Criminal Police Department (PC02), the Technical and Offline Department (PA06) of Ho Chi Minh City Police in investigating and solving two murder and robbery cases in the area.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of District 11 emphasized that the achievements of the units demonstrated the spirit of the Public Security Forces; the timely coordination, with a fierce and urgent spirit... quickly arrested the suspects. Thereby, the police force protected the peace for the people of District 11 in particular and Ho Chi Minh City in general.
As reported by SGGP, on the evening of July 14, Vu Hoai Nam (born in 2001, residing in District 11) asked Mr. L. (born in 1955, Nam's uncle) for money at a house in an alley on Xom Dat Street (Ward 10, District 11) but was refused. Angry, Nam used a wooden stick to hit Mr. L. on the head, causing him to collapse, then Nam left.
Relatives discovered Mr. L. died unexpectedly and reported it to the police. Extracting camera footage, the police identified Nam as the suspect. Using detective skills, they arrested Nam while he was hiding in Phan Van Tri apartment building (District 5).
Previously, on the evening of July 7, Tran Quang Minh (born in 1987, residing in Tan Phu district) and Pham Huu Duy (born in 1993, residing in Tan Binh district) rode their motorbikes to an alley on Le Dai Hanh street (ward 11) and discovered Ms. N. (born in 1977, residing in Tra Vinh province) wearing a gold necklace just getting out of a taxi. At this time, both of them rode their motorbikes close to snatch the necklace and escaped.
Through investigation, the police discovered Minh hiding in Ward 17 (Go Vap District) and arrested him. Duy escaped to Lam Dong Province but was persuaded by his relatives and the police to surrender; the police also recovered the gold necklace and returned it to Ms. N.
