Travel agencies promote exploitation of Thanh Hoa tourism market

In recent times, Thanh Hoa has been known as a destination with many new and attractive experiences, products and services. Accordingly, travel agencies inside and outside the province have been promoting the construction and exploitation of diverse programs to attract visitors to Thanh Hoa.

Travel agencies promote exploitation of Thanh Hoa tourism market With the capacity to serve and meet the needs of all customer segments, Sam Son coastal tourist urban area is being actively exploited by travel agencies.

According to tourism experts, there are many reasons why Thanh Hoa tourism has become the "focus" attracting the attention of many large travel agencies in the province and the whole country since the beginning of 2024. In particular, some of the main reasons pointed out are: new tourism products and services with attractive prices; high domestic airfares; convenient transportation system connecting to Thanh Hoa; short-term tourism trend; coastal tourist areas that meet the needs of large groups of tourists during the summer... In particular, Thanh Hoa owns a variety of products, meeting the needs of all segments and tourist markets.

Director of Vietravel - Thanh Hoa Branch Tran Thi Nga said: “Since the beginning of the year, along with traditional tourist markets from the northern provinces and cities, the number of visitors from markets such as Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hue, Quang Ngai... has increased by about 20% compared to 2023. In particular, customers are mainly interested in sea tourism products and Pu Luong Community Ecotourism Area. With the current growth momentum, it is expected that the number of visitors from the southern provinces and cities will continue to increase sharply until the end of August. Therefore, in addition to focusing on exploiting the "Echoes of Thanh" tour series, including 12 unique discovery and experience programs, in the coming time we will promote the exploitation of new destinations and tourism products to attract tourists from key tourism markets to Thanh Hoa".

It is known that, along with the strategy of exploiting domestic tourists, many travel agencies in the province have proactively connected and exploited customer sources from domestic tourist distribution markets. The most prominent ones are currently some itineraries such as: Hanoi - Thanh Hoa; Ho Chi Minh City - Thanh Hoa; Da Nang - Thanh Hoa; Ninh Binh - Thanh Hoa; Nghe An - Thanh Hoa... In which, 2 days 1 night and 3 days 2 nights tours are widely chosen by tourists.

Grasping the needs and tastes of tourists, along with exploiting sea resort tourism products, most travel agencies operating tours to Thanh Hoa have included community tourism areas and destinations in their discovery programs. However, with a capacity of 20 - 100 guests/accommodation, this has been and is the biggest limitation that makes it difficult for community ecotourism areas and destinations to reach large groups of guests. Meanwhile, the room fund available at resorts in Pu Luong (Ba Thuoc) or Ma village (Thuong Xuan)... on weekends is always low (about 10 - 20%). Therefore, although the ability to connect and attract guests from the province's sea tourism areas is very large, many travel agencies still find it difficult to build linked tours for large groups of guests.

VNPuls Travel Sales Director (Thanh Hoa City) Nguyen Ha Phuong commented: “In fact, the demand for long-term accommodation of tourists coming to Thanh Hoa is increasing, especially visitors from some provinces and cities in the Northwest and Southeast regions. Travel agencies can completely build more long-term Thanh discovery tour programs, connecting visitors from coastal tourist areas with community eco-tourism areas, meeting the needs of tourists. However, it is currently the peak summer tourist season, the largest capacity to receive visitors is still coastal tourist areas and destinations, suitable for resort activities and teambuilding programs of group guests. For community eco-tourism products, we will still focus on the market of visitors from the Northern provinces and international visitors”.

Representatives of some travel agencies said that in the coming time, businesses will focus on promoting the exploitation of marine tourism products - cultural tourism - community ecological tourism in the same experience program to extend the length of stay and increase the spending capacity of tourists. However, in order for Thanh Hoa tourism to be truly attractive and leave an impression on tourists, tourism service providers need to focus on improving quality, bringing typical cultural, sports and tourism events of the province into the tour program, especially during the peak summer tourist season. On the part of state management agencies, it is necessary to further promote the role of orientation, accompanying businesses in the process of building and promoting tourism products to a large number of domestic and international tourists.
