“It is necessary to reduce and simplify administrative procedures. Paper copies of documents that have been submitted online cannot be required; or if 7-8 types of documents are required, they should be reviewed and reduced to 2-3 types. Sub-processes and sub-licenses must not be added,” Mr. Do Xuan Tuyen, Deputy Minister of Health, noted about the work of pharmaceutical appraisal and licensing, at the pharmaceutical business dialogue conference held today, December 18, in Quang Ninh province.
Mr. Tuyen said he wanted to directly hear from businesses about the difficulties and problems they are facing.
“Comments can be expressed directly or completely anonymously. All comments from businesses are collected by the Drug Administration. The Ministry of Health and related ministries and sectors will receive and absorb them to find solutions or have discussions to clarify,” said Mr. Tuyen.
Businesses have been able to “monitor” the path of their files.
According to Mr. Vu Tuan Cuong, Director of the Department of Drug Administration (Ministry of Health), from 284 recommendations from businesses in the past year, with most of the opinions related to drug registration procedures, pharmaceutical business management, drug price management, and drug quality, this agency has promoted administrative procedure reforms, promoted the application of information technology, and made appraisal and licensing procedures more transparent.
Pharmaceutical companies have "monitored" the path of drug registration applications.
Most recently, in November, the Ministry of Health also issued a decision to abolish administrative procedures in the pharmaceutical sector under its management, related to drug price declaration.
The licensing process is public, and pharmaceutical companies have been able to "monitor" the path of drug registration applications.
Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen also informed that the progress of drug licensing will be accelerated thanks to the comprehensive application of information technology from 2023.
In the first 11 months of this year alone, the Ministry of Health has issued and renewed 12,333 drugs (equal to the total number of issued and renewed drugs in the last 5 years); organized 34 meetings of the Drug Registration Advisory Council, ensuring supply for disease prevention and treatment needs, and requirements of domestic drug manufacturing facilities.
