Vietnam has strengths in developing perennial industrial crops due to its diverse and suitable soil, climate and crop ecosystem. In particular, tea is one of the main crops in many localities across the country, with many large-scale growing and production areas such as Thai Nguyen, Son La, Phu Tho, Lam Dong...
Currently, Vietnamese tea products are not only for domestic consumption but also exported to many markets around the world, bringing stable income to localities, contributing to affirming the position and competitiveness of Vietnamese agricultural products in the world market.
According to the Postage Stamp Department, Vietnam Post Corporation, "Tea Tree" is the second stamp set on the theme of industrial plants issued by the Ministry of Information and Communications, with the aim of introducing and promoting the beauty and economic value of Vietnam's key industrial plants.
Informing VietNamNet , artist Nguyen Du, the designer of the “Tea Tree” stamp set, said that the stamp set was designed using graphic methods. The two borderless stamps measuring 32 x 43mm depict the process of formation, growth from seeds, trees, flowers, fruits… and the production of tea in daily life.
With a size of 90 x 80mm, the “Tea Tree” stamp block shows the image of an ancient tea tree grown in a natural environment, with a fresh climate in the highlands.... From raw materials harvested by hand, tea growers have created a unique Vietnamese product called ‘Shan Tuyet’ tea. The background of the block is an image of Long Coc tea hill (Phu Tho), famous for its landscape as well as its tea raw material area.
On this occasion, the Stamp Company under the Vietnam Post Corporation also issued a number of products accompanying the “Tea Tree” stamp set, including: First issue day envelope – FDC, FDC block, postcard and issue stamps in 5 locations: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho and Ha Giang.
