At the conference, Vietnam and more than 60 countries signed the AI Paris Joint Declaration, calling for promoting AI governance globally, ensuring that this technology develops in a transparent, fair and sustainable manner.
Vietnam’s participation demonstrates its strong commitment to applying AI to socio-economic development, while opening up many opportunities for cooperation with international partners. This event marks a shift from discussions on AI safety to concrete actions, focusing on five main topics: AI for the public good, jobs, investment, ethics and regulation.
Vietnam's participation affirms its active role in the international AI community, opening up opportunities for cooperation, learning and applying AI to domestic socio-economic development.
Besides, Vietnam's participation in the conference not only demonstrates its commitment to AI development but also opens up opportunities for cooperation, learning, and application of AI in domestic socio-economic development.
Speaking on national television channel France 2, French President Emmanuel Macron emphasized: "We are living in a rare technological and scientific revolution. AI can help us live better, learn better, work better and take better care of our health. It is important that we build a trustworthy AI governance framework, helping AI serve people instead of just serving the interests of a small group."
The French President also called on Europe to accelerate the pace of AI development to avoid falling behind technological powers, while emphasizing the need for a clear roadmap to attract talent and promote sustainable AI development.
One of the key initiatives at the conference was “Current AI” – a global public-private partnership to support large-scale AI projects that serve the public good. In addition, the parties also emphasized the importance of limiting the concentration of power in a few technology corporations, ensuring that AI is more accessible to developing countries.
