The National Steering Committee for the 2023 High School Graduation Exam has responded to the controversy over the error-finding question of the 2023 High School Graduation English exam.
Regarding the controversy over the question of finding errors in the English exam for high school graduation, on the afternoon of July 5, the Ministry of Education and Training informed that the National Steering Committee for the 2023 High School Graduation Exam has directed the Professional Council to review the answers for the exam subjects.
The steering committee decided to adjust the English answer key.
Specifically, the answer to question 50, code 409 (the order of this question may change according to different codes) of the English subject has 2 correct options: B and C. Candidates choosing one of these two answers will be recognized as choosing the correct answer.
The controversial question requires candidates to point out the wrong word in a sentence with 4 answer options for candidates to choose from, specifically as follows:
The Ministry of Education and Training recognizes both correct answers in an English sentence. |
According to teachers, in this question, both options B and C are acceptable, even though option C is the more obvious error, but the answer chosen by the Ministry of Education and Training is answer B, which means that if the candidate chooses C, they will not get any points even though it is still correct.
