The Politburo appointed the Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee to hold the position of Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee.

Mr. Vu Dai Thang, Secretary of Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee, delivered a speech accepting the assignment.

On October 26, Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee held a conference to announce the Politburo's decision on personnel work.

Attending the event were Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Head of the Central Organizing Committee Le Minh Hung; comrades in the Central Organizing Committee, leaders of Quang Ninh and Quang Binh provinces.

At the conference, Party Central Committee member, Deputy Head of the Central Organization Commission Nguyen Quang Duong announced the Politburo's Decision approving the transfer of Mr. Vu Dai Thang, Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee, to hold the position of Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

On behalf of the Politburo, Head of the Central Organizing Committee Le Minh Hung presented the Decision and congratulated Mr. Vu Dai Thang on his new responsibility.

According to the Head of the Central Organizing Committee, to ensure the direct, comprehensive, regular and continuous leadership of the Politburo, the Secretariat and the Party Central Committee over the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee, the Politburo has decided to transfer and appoint Mr. Vu Dai Thang, member of the 13th Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee, to join the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee and hold the position of Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

Mr. Vu Dai Thang received basic training and worked in many positions. During his working process, no matter what position he held, he always tried his best, strived to improve himself, and made positive contributions to the locality, agency, and unit.

Taking on an important task in a developing province like Quang Ninh, Head of the Central Organizing Committee Le Minh Hung hopes that Mr. Vu Dai Thang will quickly grasp the situation of the province, continue to promote his experience and capacity, focus on solving difficulties and problems; together with the Executive Committee and the Standing Committee of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee, unite and strive to lead the successful implementation of the resolution of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Congress, bringing the locality to develop into a model, rich, beautiful and civilized province.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Vu Dai Thang expressed his deep gratitude to the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Central Organizing Committee for trusting him and assigning him the responsibility of Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee; thanked the Standing Committee and the Executive Committee of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee for trusting, supporting, and helping him to take on the new responsibility.

At the same time, he promised to promote the achievements of the locality, make efforts and strive to fulfill assigned tasks; together with the Standing Committee and the Provincial Party Executive Committee, promote the spirit of solidarity and unity to continue to successfully implement the goals of the Party Congress resolution and the Resolution of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Congress.

Mr. Vu Dai Thang, born in 1975 (from Phu Dong commune, Gia Lam district, Hanoi); professional qualifications: Master of International Relations (WASEDA University, Japan), Bachelor of Economics, Bachelor of Law; senior political theory. He used to hold the position of Director of the Department of Economic Zone Management, Ministry of Planning and Investment; Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Nam province, term 2010-2015.

In 2016, he was elected as an alternate member of the 12th Party Central Committee. In March 2018, he was appointed by the Prime Minister as Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment. In August 2020, the Politburo assigned him to join the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and hold the position of Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee for the 2015-2020 term.
