BTO - The Central and Central Highlands Region Senior Citizens' Singing Festival recently took place in Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province.
The festival featured over 200 actors and musicians from 14 provinces and cities in the region. The Binh Thuan delegation consisted of 10 actors selected from Ham Thuan Bac district. Binh Thuan presented a program with 5 performances, praising their homeland, the country, President Ho Chi Minh, and Cham culture. The oldest member of the delegation was Ms. Bich Lien, 74 years old, who performed the song "This Place Where Uncle Ho Passed." Most impressive were the Cham dances illustrating the performances. As a result, the delegation won the C prize overall, and actor Thong Van Trinh (Cham ethnic group, 57 years old, Ham Tri commune) won the award for best elderly actor with the performance "Cham Village Thanks Uncle Ho."
The festival created a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere, encouraging and motivating elderly people to live happily, healthily, and usefully; contributing to improving the cultural and spiritual life of the elderly; affirming the effectiveness of the mass art and culture movement of the Elderly Association at all levels and having a wide-ranging impact, attracting the participation of a large number of elderly people.
