Still in the season of Maitreya Spring Festival and Ba Den Mountain Spring Festival, Tay Ninh continues to welcome a wave of pilgrimages during the Full Moon Festival of January with nearly 200,000 visitors to Ba Den Mountain.
Since January 14, Tay Ninh has welcomed a large number of people from the Eastern and Southwestern provinces and from Cambodia to celebrate Tet Nguyen Tieu. The full moon of January is considered a sacred and especially important holiday for the people here, and this is also an opportunity for people to enjoy spring with "unique" experiences only available in Tay Ninh.
According to information from Sun World Ba Den Mountain tourist area, on January 15 and 16, nearly 200,000 visitors took the cable car to Ba Den Mountain for pilgrimage. From 5am to 11pm, the cable car of the tourist area was still bustling, taking visitors from the foot of the mountain to the Ba Den Pagoda system and to the top of the mountain.
From early morning on the 15th day of the first lunar month, Ba Den mountain peak was bustling with tourists visiting and checking in amidst the brilliant spring colors, especially the tens of thousands of tulips blooming brilliantly, making tourists extremely excited. For many years, tulips have become a specialty of Ba Den mountain every spring.
The Maitreya Spring Festival space makes Ba Den Mountain a unique cultural destination. Khmer dances, the bustling melodies of pentatonic music or the skillful dances of Chhay dam drums make a special impression on visitors when coming to Ba Den Mountain in the spring.
The Lantern Offering Ceremony to celebrate the Lantern Festival with more than 100,000 lanterns lit up all over the mountain top is the most popular experience for tourists when coming to Ba Den Mountain this time. In the large square, a sea of people light up lanterns and offer them in front of the great statue of Buddha Tay Bo Da Son, creating an extremely magical and sacred scene.
The art program with bold Buddhist colors combined with the magical light radiating from the lanterns creates an unforgettable lantern offering ceremony for visitors.
The meditation ceremony in front of the world's largest sandstone statue of Maitreya Bodhisattva attracts hundreds of thousands of Buddhists and tourists to attend, with the desire to send wishes for a peaceful new year before Maitreya's vow of joy and generosity.
A new experience that is especially attractive to visitors to Ba Den Mountain this year is the water music show that applies technology for the first time in Vietnam. Tens of thousands of visitors gathered on Cau Uoc - a special spiritual bridge to watch the water music show for the first time in Tay Ninh.
The show is a unique combination of sound effects, light, water and dances imbued with Buddhism and folk culture, where Buddhists offer music, light and joy to Bodhisattva Maitreya.
At 10pm, the Ba Temple area in its magical light was still bustling with thousands of pilgrims and worshippers at the 300-year-old Linh Son Tien Thach Tu and the Ba Temple associated with the legend of Linh Son Thanh Mau - the goddess of the most sacred mountain in Vietnam.
Throughout the night at the foot of Ba Den Mountain during the Full Moon Festival in January, people from other provinces and from Cambodia still flock to the foot of Ba Den Mountain, playing and sleeping together at the foot of the mountain. This is the moment for people to send their New Year wishes at one of the most sacred acupuncture points in the country and enjoy the joy of the New Year in a special way only available in Tay Ninh.
