TPO - Immediately after the Ho Chi Minh City - Con Dao sea route officially came into operation, some passengers spoke up about facing many difficulties when traveling from the center of Ho Chi Minh City to Saigon - Hiep Phuoc port, where passengers from Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao are picked up.
According to information from Phu Quoc Express Joint Stock Company, the Ho Chi Minh City - Con Dao route uses Thang Long high-speed ship and has a route from Saigon - Hiep Phuoc port (in Nha Be district, Ho Chi Minh City) to Con Dao.
Because Saigon - Hiep Phuoc port is located about 20km away from the center of Ho Chi Minh City by road, to facilitate train passengers, Phu Quoc Express has arranged a free shuttle bus from 23/9 Park (District 1). However, because it has just been put into operation, train passengers are not used to pre-registering for shuttle buses, leading to the company not being proactive in arranging enough buses.
Specifically, on the morning of May 16, there were only about 50 guests who registered in advance and Phu Quoc Express arranged enough vehicles for this number of guests. However, at 23/9 Park, many train passengers who did not register for a shuttle bus still got on the bus, leading to an overload situation. Phu Quoc Express proactively arranged more vehicles, but guests had to wait for a new vehicle.
Similarly, on the return journey from Con Dao to Ho Chi Minh City, many passengers did not register for a shuttle bus from Saigon - Hiep Phuoc port to the center of Ho Chi Minh City, so the ship did not arrange a bus. Many passengers then proactively called a taxi, but because Saigon - Hiep Phuoc port is far from the center of Ho Chi Minh City, the number of taxis was not enough to meet the needs of hundreds of passengers at the same time, leading to some passengers having to wait a long time to find a taxi.

Phu Quoc Express representative confirmed that the company has a very specific passenger transfer plan, even if the number of passengers reaches thousands, the company can still arrange enough transportation to meet the needs of the passengers.
Phu Quoc Express recommends that passengers should proactively register for a shuttle bus when purchasing tickets so that the company can proactively arrange a shuttle bus to conveniently serve travel needs.

Regarding the organization of passenger transfer from Bach Dang Wharf to Saigon - Hiep Phuoc port by the 5-star high-speed boat Greenlines DP, Mr. Tran Song Hai - Director of DP Green Technology Company Limited (the unit managing the high-speed boat Greenlines DP) said that the unit is ready to organize the transfer but currently needs legal support from all parties.
On May 16, the passenger did not register for a transfer but still arrived at Bach Dang Wharf, so the company did not arrange a boat.
“Train passengers need to register for transfer when purchasing tickets so that we have information to develop a plan. In addition, the transfer of passengers from Bach Dang wharf to Saigon - Hiep Phuoc port requires legal support from the investor and related parties to operate in accordance with regulations," said Mr. Tran Song Hai.
