On the afternoon of November 5, according to information from the Criminal Police Department of Thu Dau Mot City Police, Binh Duong Province, the unit is temporarily detaining Tran Thi Ngoc Tham (born 2005, from Ben Tre) to investigate the act of "Appropriating a person under 16 years old".
Tham was the person who broke into Binh Duong General Hospital and carried the newborn baby girl for more than 40km.
On the same morning, at the investigation agency, Tham stated that he was staying in Thanh Tuyen commune, Dau Tieng district, Binh Duong province.

This woman had ovarian cysts, had a miscarriage, and had a very low chance of having children. This woman wanted to have children, and with family pressure, she lied to her husband that she was pregnant and would give birth around October 2023.
Tham has a fat body, looks like she is pregnant so her husband and his family believe it.
On November 4, Tham told her husband's family that she was going to the hospital to give birth. However, the doctor concluded that Tham was not pregnant and did not allow her to stay.
After that, Tham went around the hospital and stole a white blouse, pretended to be a medical staff and went into the maternity room, saying she was taking the baby to get vaccinated. The mother believed her and let Tham hold the baby.
Tran Thi Ngoc Tham brought the child back to her rented room in Thanh Tuyen commune, Dau Tieng district and told her relatives that the child was newborn.
According to the pregnant woman, the woman in white came in and said she was taking the girl for a vaccination. At that time, the patient's family was eating and did not pay attention.
After a while, the other person did not return with the baby girl, so the family panicked and notified the hospital to look for her.
Binh Duong General Hospital quickly reported the incident to Binh Duong Department of Health and coordinated with the police to verify and search for the newborn girl.
A representative of Thu Dau Mot City Police said that immediately after receiving the report from the hospital, the unit quickly took action. From the camera footage, it was determined that the woman in the blouse had taken the baby out of the hospital and moved towards Dau Tieng district, Binh Duong province.
Based on the above clue, Thu Dau Mot City Police coordinated with Dau Tieng District Police to stop a car traveling on Provincial Road 744 through Thanh Tuyen Commune (Dau Tieng District), about 50km from Binh Duong General Hospital. At that time, there was no woman or newborn baby girl on the car.
At around 11pm the same day, the police arrested the woman and the girl at the rented room.
The baby was brought back to her mother on the night of November 4th. Both mother and child are in stable health. Initially, it was determined that Tham took the baby home to raise.
