Speaking at the award ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, said that Vietnam's foreign information work has gone through a long journey with many proud achievements. In particular, in recent years, in the face of fluctuations in the world situation, foreign information has increasingly demonstrated its role as an important bridge to help the world understand correctly and more deeply about Vietnam. At the same time, this is also a sharp tool to protect national and ethnic interests, fight and refute erroneous and hostile views. According to him, the works participating in the 10th National Foreign Information Award - 2024 are not only diverse in genre but also rich in content, demonstrating the creativity and responsibility of those working in foreign information work. The outstanding award-winning works have highlighted the image of a dynamic, integrated Vietnam, resilient in overcoming challenges, while affirming the cultural identity and historical traditions of the nation. Through these works, the world not only sees Vietnam’s achievements in economic, cultural, educational, and health development, but also feels the aspiration of the entire Vietnamese people to rise up.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia stated that foreign information work is identified as an important part of the Party's political, ideological and foreign affairs work, state diplomacy and people's diplomacy. This is a regular and long-term task of the entire political system under the leadership of the Party. In order to meet and successfully complete the tasks of foreign information work in the coming time, he suggested that first of all, foreign information work needs to continue to be a sharp pioneering force, leading the way, creating the foundation and favorable conditions to help our country firmly enter a new era, an era of the Vietnamese people's rise; it is necessary to closely follow the country's development goals, closely linked to the major strategies of the Party and State with the motto of being proactive, synchronous, creative and effective. At the same time, it is necessary to quickly and sensitively grasp new media trends, build foreign information products that not only accurately reflect reality but also have predictive and directional properties, ensuring the good performance of its role and mission, contributing to promoting the relationship between Vietnam and neighboring countries, major countries, strategic partners, comprehensive partners, traditional friends and other important partners in depth and substance. In addition, foreign information work needs to promote innovation, encourage activities and initiatives in propaganda and promotion of Vietnam, effectively exploiting the achievements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. "Foreign information needs to bring national soft power to a new level by positioning Vietnam as an autonomous, confident, self-reliant, self-reliant, proud nation, working with humanity to build an increasingly better world, taking people's lives as the center, taking national comprehensive strength as the basis to write the story of Vietnam in the new era, the new era", emphasized Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia. Pleased to see that after 10 years of formation and development, the National Award for Foreign Information has affirmed its prestige, position, and status and gone beyond the territory of Vietnam with an increasing number of foreign authors and works, he acknowledged and commended the member agencies of the Steering Committee for Foreign Information, especially the press agencies holding the permanent role of the Award, namely Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam News Agency, the close and regular coordination of the Central Propaganda Department with the Central External Relations Department, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, and the Provincial and Municipal Party Committees directly under the Central Government. The themes of this year's works/products continue to fully cover important political, foreign affairs, cultural events..., the country's achievements in all fields; information on the Party and State's guidelines, policies, especially current development priorities such as science and technology, digital transformation, green economy; introducing and promoting the beauty of the country, people, and cultural values of Vietnam. The works have diverse and modern forms of expression, actively using new traditional means (for products/works in the video clip category).
