Today (June 19), Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Information and Communications, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Manh Hung and the working delegation of the Ministry of Information and Communications visited and congratulated Lao Dong Newspaper on the occasion of the 98th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2023).
On the side of Lao Dong Newspaper, there was Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hien - Member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Party Secretary, Editor-in-Chief of Lao Dong Newspaper, along with the Newspaper's staff, reporters and editors.
At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hien said that Lao Dong Newspaper published its first issue on August 14, 1929. Currently, the Newspaper has the following publications: daily printed newspaper, weekend printed newspaper, and electronic newspaper.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hien also informed that since 2017, the income of cadres, workers and civil servants has increased every year compared to the previous year. Lao Dong Newspaper is also one of the press agencies with many prestigious press awards from ministries, branches, localities, including international awards.
The Editor-in-Chief of Lao Dong Newspaper added that currently, Lao Dong Newspaper continues to invest in facilities, identifying this as a long-term resource for stability and development.
Speaking at the meeting, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung expressed his impression of the spacious “premises” of Lao Dong Newspaper. According to the Minister, very few press agencies have this. At the meeting, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung also mentioned the mechanism of ordering press and allocating regular budget for communication. Therefore, relevant agencies, units, and authorities at all levels must organize communication tasks well and work with press agencies.
“If the media does well, that field will do well and its value will increase. This will also create opportunities and increase revenue for newspapers,” said Minister Nguyen Manh Hung.
