In Vietnam, flan is popular and loved by many people. The soft cake, covered with a layer of caramel, is rated by Taste Atlas as a "classic, timeless dessert", "delicate and beautiful".
The main ingredients of the dish are a mixture of eggs, milk, vanilla or coffee flavoring and sugar that is caramelized until brown. When eaten, the cake is turned upside down on a plate, highlighting the thick layer of caramel sauce on top and flowing down around, covering the entire cake in an amber color. The Vietnamese version of caramel cake often uses condensed milk as an ingredient, making the cake thicker.
Topping the top 100 is Dondurma, a famous Turkish ice cream. Japan, Korea, and Türkiye are the countries with the most dishes mentioned in the top. Besides, there are representatives from Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
