Unexpected changes in interest rate rankings.

According to Lao Dong newspaper, towards the end of August, the market saw 16 banks increase savings interest rates. Compared to the same period two months earlier, nearly 20 banks have increased interest rates in just half a month.

Banks that have increased savings interest rates since the beginning of August include: Eximbank, ACB, Agribank, Sacombank, Saigonbank, VietBank, TPBank, CBBank, VIB, Dong A Bank, VPBank, Techcombank,SHB , VietBank, PVCombank, and Nam A Bank.

At the same time, a few banks began to consider lowering interest rates. Since the beginning of August, the market has seen as many as three banks adjust their rates in the opposite direction, reducing them. Accordingly, most of the banks that reduced interest rates were those that previously offered some of the highest rates in the market, such as ABBank, Bac A Bank , and SeABank.

Leading banks made opposite adjustments, creating significant fluctuations in the ranking of highest interest rates. Accordingly, interest rates for 6-9 month terms were adjusted upwards, while interest rates for larger 12-month terms saw a slight decrease of 0.1-0.2 percentage points.

Highest interest rates for terms of 1-3 months.

According to Lao Dong newspaper, for a 1-month term, the highest deposit interest rate currently belongs to CBBank with 3.8%/year.OCB , NCB, MSB, BVBank, and Bac A Bank currently pay 3.7%/year for this term.

For a 3-month term, the highest interest rate is 4.3%/year, currently offered by Eximbank. The next highest rate is 4.1%/year, currently offered by ABBank and Bac A Bank. 4.0%/year is offered by NCB, CBBank, BaoVietBank, and Bac A Bank.

Highest interest rates for terms of 6-9 months.

For the 6-month term, CBBank surged ahead with an interest rate of 5.55%/year. NCB offered 5.35%/year. Following closely behind was ABBank with an interest rate of 5.3%/year.

For a 9-month term, the highest interest rate is 5.7%/year at ABBank, followed by 5.55%/year at NCB, and then 5.5%/year, currently offered by BVBank and CBBank.

Highest interest rate for a 12-month term.

For the 12-month term, ABBank, after adjusting downwards, still leads, listing an interest rate of 6.0%/year for this term. Following closely behind are Bac A Bank, BVBank, and BaoVietBank, offering interest rates of 5.8%/year.
