The long-awaited World Esports Championship 2023 Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, organized by the International Electronic Sports Federation (IESF), finally kicked off today in Romania, where 16 international Mobile Legends: Bang Bang teams will compete for the top spot with a total prize pool of $100,000. This is also the highest international Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament organized by the IESF!
The group stage will be a round-robin format that will run from today, June 28, to August 30. Participating Mobile Legends: Bang Bang teams will be divided into four groups, where they will have to compete against the remaining opponents in the group in a BO3 format. The top two teams from each group will then advance to the knockout stage, which will run from August 31 to September 3. The two finalists will compete on the main stage in a BO5 format.
“We are proud to be part of the global esports family brought together by the IESF committee to celebrate competitive gaming,” said Ray Ng, Director of Esports Ecosystem at Mobile Legends: Bang Bang publisher and developer Moonton Games. “This tournament showcases the tireless efforts of our partners and athletes. We expect many surprises from the winning team.”

In Vietnam, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is released by VNG Games. This game also helped the eSports team win medals at the 19th, 21st and 23rd SEA Games. At the 15th World Championship in Romania, the Vietnamese team failed to qualify for the finals when they finished last in Group B after losing to the other two teams in the group, the Philippines and Myanmar. The Philippines team then won the only ticket from Southeast Asia and Oceania to represent Southeast Asia in the Finals. The remaining representative of Southeast Asia at this tournament is the Indonesian team, which has a place in the Finals as the defending champion of the 2022 tournament.
