Quantum AI - The technological power that shapes the future

In the modern technological world, the combination of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Quantum Computing is opening a new era where traditional technological limits are broken. Quantum AI is not just a trend, but is expected to be the "golden key" to solving the most complex problems in many fields such as medicine, finance and energy.

Quantum AI – The Perfect Combination of Speed and Intelligence

Imagine having a super-intelligent computer that can solve complex problems in seconds, and combining this incredible computing power with the pattern recognition and learning capabilities of artificial intelligence. It’s like giving “Einstein’s brain” the superpower to analyze massive amounts of data, recognize complex patterns, and make predictions with a level of accuracy and speed that was previously thought impossible. That’s quantum AI.

By combining quantum computing power and AI deep learning capabilities, this technology is ushering in a new era of limitless potential. According to a report by Allied Market Research, the global enterprise quantum computing market is forecast to reach over $18 billion by 2030, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 29.7% from 2020 to 2030. This is a testament to the strong development of this technology.

Generative AI programs like ChatGPT and text-to-image tools like Midjourney have already reached impressive levels of intelligence. However, they are still limited by the processing capabilities of traditional computers. Meanwhile, quantum technology is considered a breakthrough, when switching from sequential processing to multivariate processing, increasing computing power exponentially. Thanks to that, complex problems that take modern supercomputers years to solve can be completed by quantum computers in just seconds, opening up nearly limitless computing potential.

“The combination of quantum computing and AI will make artificial intelligence more intelligent and creative, and at the same time boost the problem-solving ability of quantum computers,” said Professor Jamie Cohen, an AI expert at Queens University.

The next breakthrough shaping the world of technology

Google recently announced that it will release commercial quantum computing applications within the next five years, in stark contrast to Nvidia's prediction that it would take up to 20 years for the technology to be truly useful. The move by the tech giant Google demonstrates its ambition to bring this technology to practice and create significant changes in many industries such as building high-performance batteries for electric vehicles, developing new drugs and finding alternative energy solutions.

In 2024, Google also announced its fourth-generation quantum chip, which is significantly superior to previous generations in terms of stability and performance. This announcement caused Google's already high stock price to skyrocket immediately after the announcement.

According to AFP news agency, US tech giants, startups, banks and pharmaceutical companies are also pouring money into quantum computing technology. In 2023, IBM launched the world's first quantum computer specializing in medicine, capable of quickly processing complex problems, helping to promote medical research such as determining treatments for complex diseases, finding new molecules to create effective drugs, sequencing genes for cancer research, and even creating jobs in the technology sector.

Microsoft has announced Majorana 1, a new chip that it says will bring quantum computing to reality in years, not decades. "Imagine a chip that fits in the palm of your hand and can solve problems that all the computers on Earth combined can't solve today," Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella posted on X after the company unveiled Majorana 1 on February 19.

Although still in its infancy, quantum AI has demonstrated its potential to be a game-changer in many areas. It is not just a technology, but also a driving force to solve some of humanity’s biggest challenges. Technological powerhouses such as the United States, China, and the European Union are racing to develop quantum technology. The United States has invested billions of dollars in quantum research and development, with the participation of major technology corporations such as Google, IBM, and Microsoft. China has also rapidly developed quantum communications satellites and quantum cryptography systems.

This is not only a race of technology, but also a race of thinking, creativity and strategic vision. With constant progress, quantum AI is gradually shaping a future where current scientific and technological limits will be expanded to unimaginable levels. Although Vietnam has not yet had many activities in this field, it is difficult to stay out of the inevitable trend of the world. Which path will we choose in this race and how will we start training quantum AI personnel to meet future needs?
