In recent times, Agribank has worked with the banking sector to focus on implementing Plan 01 between the banking sector and the Ministry of Public Security in implementing Project 06 of the Government to promote investment in building and developing information technology infrastructure systems, operating platforms, increasing digital products and services, creating convenience in payment, saving costs, meeting the needs of people and businesses.

Decision No. 06/QD-TTg dated January 6, 2022 of the Prime Minister approving the Project on developing applications of population data, identification and electronic authentication to serve the national digital transformation in the period of 2022 - 2025, with a vision to 2030 (Project 06) with the content allowing units in the banking sector to exploit the national population database, exploit information on chip-based ID cards and use electronic identification accounts (VNeID) provided by the Ministry of Public Security. This plays a very important role for the banking sector to apply and deploy the provision of digital banking services in the network environment, accurately authenticate customers, prevent crimes of document fraud, opening and using fake accounts or defrauding customers to gain access to digital banking services. Agribank's digital transformation plan was resolutely directed by the Board of Members, the Executive Board and leaders at all levels, focusing resources on implementation. deploying population data applications according to Project 06.

Up to now, Agribank has completed the construction of a customer information authentication and cleaning management system that allows synchronization, management, and exploitation of cleaned customer data from channels, effectively supporting the implementation of connecting with the National Population Database and organizing the updating of biometric data and cleaning for Agribank customers at the counter and on electronic channels. Currently, Agribank is urgently implementing cleaning for all customers and targeting all individual customers at Agribank according to the provisions of Circular No. 17/TT-NHNN and Circular No. 18/TT-NHNN of the State Bank. Accordingly, customers can update biometrics and identification documents on the Agribank Plus application, Agribank Retail eBanking or directly at Agribank transaction points nationwide. In addition, Agribank has also increased the implementation of transactions outside of business hours to serve customers in updating their identification and biometric information. As of December 20, 2024, Agribank has cleaned up nearly 6 million customers. In the coming time, Agribank will further promote the application of population data in banking activities (social security payments, loan customer assessment, VneID electronic identification, etc.) according to the policies and orientations in Project 06 and Coordination Plan No. 01. In addition, in recent times, Agribank has continuously promoted and focused resources on researching and implementing solutions to promote digital transformation, building and developing a digital product and service ecosystem according to the policy and orientation of taking customers as the center. Specifically, Agribank promotes the application of digital technology to all product and service groups (Capital mobilization; domestic payment; card; international payment; foreign exchange trading; remittance; e-banking; treasury and currency management; agency trust; linked products and services, insurance, etc.). In particular, for digital platforms for individual customers (Agribank Plus, Agribank Retail eBanking), Agribank upgrades and develops new utility functions (with nearly 90 utility services) such as updating customer data from chip-embedded ID cards, authenticating customers according to transaction limits meeting the requirements in Decision No. 2345/QD-NHNN, Circular 17, displaying VIP customer information, managing accounts with identification codes (Alias), etc., providing effective and quality digital services to more than 12 million customers at Agribank. In the coming time, Agribank will continue to promote investment in developing product packages on new digital technology platforms such as Open API product packages towards Open Banking, applying AI in customer care and support, Social Listening and Analytics, Digital Marketing... to diversify utilities to enhance the digital experience for customers. With its role and reputation as the leading commercial bank in Vietnam, Agribank has always been proactive in pioneering in cooperating to exploit the national database on population, exploit information on chip-based ID cards and use VNeID electronic identification accounts to help customers and people enjoy many benefits from digital banking services such as opening online accounts, cashless payments and especially biometric transaction authentication, contributing to the successful implementation of Plan No. 01/KHPH-BCA-NHNN on implementing tasks in Project 06.
