6 mistakes that cause candidates to have their points deducted and be suspended from the 10th grade exam

Hanoi If you bring prohibited items into the exam room, cheat, or write irrelevant content on the exam paper, you will be suspended from the 10th grade exam.

More than 104,000 students in Hanoi completed procedures to take the 10th grade entrance exam on the morning of June 9. On June 10-11, students will take three exams: Math, Literature and Foreign Language. Students who register for specialized schools will take an additional specialized subject exam on June 12.

The entrance exam for grade 10 in Hanoi public schools applies the high school graduation exam regulations, issued by the Ministry of Education and Training. Accordingly, candidates who violate the regulations will be handled according to the following levels: reprimand, warning, suspension from the exam, and cancellation of results.

Reprimand is the lightest level. Candidates who look at or exchange papers for the first time will be dealt with at this level. They will be recorded and have 25% of the total score of that test deducted.

The warning level is applied to candidates who have been reprimanded once, continue to re-offend in the same exam or exchange scratch paper, test papers, or copy other candidates' test papers. The supervisor will make a record and confiscate the evidence (if any). With this level of handling, the candidate will have 50% of the total score of that exam deducted.

With suspension , the candidate gets a score of 0 and is not allowed to take the remaining exams, which means the results are canceled. This form of discipline is applied to candidates in the following cases:

- Warned more than once.

- Bringing into the examination room or when moving between the examination room and the waiting room prohibited items: carbon paper, correction pens, alcoholic beverages, weapons and explosives, documents, communication or information storage devices, which can be used for cheating.

- Taking the exam out of the exam room or receiving the solution from outside.

- Write or draw on the test paper content unrelated to the lesson.

- Fighting, threatening supervisors and other candidates.

- Failure to comply with instructions from supervisors or waiting room managers.

The decision to suspend the exam is issued by the head of the exam site. Suspended candidates must submit their papers, exam questions, and scratch paper and leave the exam room, move to the waiting room, and may only leave the exam site after the exam time is over.

In addition to the above cases, candidates will also receive a score of 0 if the test is copied from documents; there are two or more tests in one subject; the test has the handwriting of two or more people; the parts written on scratch paper or test paper are not in accordance with regulations.

The next level is to cancel the 10th grade exam results , which applies to candidates who have two exams with a score of 0; let someone else take the exam for them and vice versa; and change the exam after it has been submitted. If they falsify documents to enjoy preferential treatment, use illegal certificates, let someone else take the exam for them, or sabotage the exam, or show signs of criminal violations, the candidate will have their results canceled and their file sent to the authorities for handling according to regulations.

The Department of Education and Training notes that candidates who arrive more than 15 minutes late from the test start time will not be allowed to take the test that day.

To be considered for admission to public grade 10, candidates must complete all exams, not violate regulations, and not have a score of 0 in any exam. The admission score for non-specialized high schools is the sum of Literature and Math scores multiplied by two, plus Foreign Language and priority scores.

For specialized schools, the admission score is the sum of the three exam scores of Math, Literature, Foreign Language and the specialized subject score multiplied by a coefficient of two.

Hanoi's public 10th grade benchmark scores were announced on July 8-9, and candidates confirmed their enrollment online or in person. From July 18, schools that do not have enough enrollment quotas will begin additional enrollment.
