On the morning of October 8, the Veterans Association of Thai Binh province organized the 7th Patriotic Emulation Congress of "Exemplary Veterans" for the period 2024 - 2029. Attending the congress were: Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong, President of the Vietnam Veterans Association; Ngo Dong Hai, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee; leaders of the Provincial People's Council and People's Committee.

Over the past 5 years, the emulation movement "Exemplary war veterans" has been widely deployed by the provincial War Veterans Association, becoming a strong driving force, arousing the will of self-reliance, self-improvement and potential of generations of war veterans in carrying out the political tasks of the association and the locality. The movement has been directed towards carrying out the political tasks of the unit, notably: war veteran members actively participate in building and protecting the Party, government and people; encourage each other to develop the economy and improve their lives; organize well charitable, humanitarian and charitable activities; participate in building advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas; participate in ensuring security and order; fight against corruption and negativity; build a clean and strong association, contributing to building a strong political base, developing the local economy and culture.

The province has 498 companies, production facilities, cooperatives, and farms owned by war veterans, an increase of 153 models compared to 2019, creating stable jobs for 27,537 workers with an average income of 6.5 - 8 million VND/person/month, contributing to reducing the rate of poor members to 0.26%; more than 49% of grassroots associations no longer have poor households, over 98% of member families use clean water. Over the past 5 years, war veterans' association members in the province have donated 137,542m2 of residential land to serve the implementation of provincial and district projects and build roads to build new rural areas; there are 393 welfare works contributed by grassroots war veterans' associations with a total amount of nearly 40 billion VND; 19,006 members participated in contributing resources to build advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas with a total amount of 18.42 billion VND, which was recognized and highly appreciated by the Party Committee, government and people. The provincial Veterans Association has many creative and effective models of activities that have had a wide influence in society. The association has coordinated to organize hundreds of traditional talks for tens of thousands of students, university students, union members and youth; mobilize union members and youth to actively study, and introduce jobs to young people.

In the period of 2024 - 2029, the Provincial Association of War Veterans strives for 100% of its members to study and thoroughly grasp the Party's resolutions, to be steadfast in politics and ideology; 95% or more of the association's grassroots units to achieve clean and strong status, 95% or more of the member's families to meet the standards of a cultural family, and no member who violates the law must be disciplined; 100% of commune, ward and town bases to attract 80% or more of veterans to participate and build an association fund with an average of 400,000 VND/member or more each year.

Speaking at the Congress, Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong, Chairman of the Vietnam Veterans Association and comrade Ngo Dong Hai, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee acknowledged, highly appreciated and warmly commended and congratulated the achievements that the Veterans Association at all levels of Thai Binh province have achieved in the emulation movement "Exemplary Veterans" over the past 5 years.

To effectively implement the goals and tasks set out in the 2024 - 2029 period and the following years, the Provincial Party Secretary requested that all levels of the War Veterans Association in the province continue to promote the achievements, further promote the emulation movement "Exemplary War Veterans", replicate good models, creative and effective ways of doing things; closely follow the assigned political tasks and the practical situation in the locality to strongly innovate the methods and content of activities; promote the role in implementing the grassroots democracy regulations, ensure the people's right to mastery, participate in effectively resolving difficulties and problems, contribute to building a sense of community, strengthen the close relationship between cadres, party members and people. Promote the movement of war veterans to unite and help each other develop the economy, participate in production and business, strive to get rich legally, help other members stabilize their lives, improve the material and spiritual life of war veterans.
The Provincial Party Secretary hopes that with their enthusiasm and experience, the War Veterans Association members will continue to contribute to educating the tradition and revolutionary heroism, passing on experiences to the younger generation, considering it a glorious task of the association and the responsibility and affection of the War Veterans towards the youth, contributing to spreading the cultural, historical and revolutionary traditions of Thai Binh. Along with that, each cadre and War Veterans Association member must live exemplary lives and, through their own example, educate their children and grandchildren, build a new cultural family, and set a good example for the younger generation to follow.
The Provincial Party Secretary believes that the emulation movement "Exemplary War Veterans" in the coming time with new motivations and determination will develop to a new level, building many new models and methods of operation for the movement, with more typical examples, more achievements, achieving many new and greater victories, towards the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024), welcoming party congresses at all levels, towards the 21st Provincial Party Congress and the 14th National Party Congress.
