Bac Giang is suitable for pilgrimages departing from Hanoi, visiting pagodas such as Bo Da, Vinh Nghiem and Yen Tu.
Bac Giang is located about 50 km from Hanoi, convenient for travel thanks to the CT01 expressway from Bac Giang to Lang Son.
Normally, tourists visit Bac Giang in a day. However, to have time to visit the pagodas and rest, tourists should take a 48-hour trip, passing through three famous pagodas including Yen Tu (from Bac Giang), Bo Da and Vinh Nghiem. Day 1
Moving from Hanoi
Departing from Hanoi at around 6:30 am, it will take visitors about an hour and a half to reach Tay Yen Tu spiritual tourist area, Son Dong district. The distance is 62 km, via CT01 highway and then national highway 17.
Visit Tay Yen Tu spiritual tourist complex
Tay Yen Tu is located on the western slope of Yen Tu mountain range (Quang Ninh province), built to recreate the path of spreading Buddhism of the founders of Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen sect. Here, visitors will be immersed in the scenery of the mountains and forests with a rich flora and fauna system.
The pagoda has 4 areas, covering an area of 13.8 hectares, including Trinh Pagoda, Ha Pagoda (Phat Quang Pagoda), Trung Pagoda and Thuong Pagoda (Kim Quy Pagoda). The pagodas are located at an altitude of 145 m to nearly 1,000 m, connecting to Dong Pagoda on the top of Yen Tu. Visitors can take the cable car from Ha Pagoda to Thuong Pagoda and walk along the mountain road to Dong Pagoda.

Near the parking lot at the foot of Yen Tu mountain, there is a restaurant serving lunch. Visit Vinh Nghiem Pagoda
From Yen Tu, visitors travel along DT293 to Vinh Nghiem Pagoda. The distance is about 60 km.
The pagoda has 4 houses located in a large campus, surrounded by bamboo forests. Not only is it a place to worship Buddha, Vinh Nghiem Pagoda also worships Truc Lam Tam To in the Tran Dynasty. The pagoda also preserves a set of ancient scriptures covering 10 rooms. These are scriptures from 700 years ago, a valuable book storehouse called by the ancients as a wooden library.

Visit Bo Da Pagoda
Bo Da Pagoda is about 20 km from Bac Giang city on the way back to Hanoi. Visitors can stop to visit the pagoda and rest for about an hour.
The pagoda still retains the traditional ancient Vietnamese architecture. Nearly 100 interconnected rooms were built with folk materials such as baked bricks, tiles, ceramic urns, and the surrounding walls were made of earth. The walls, gates, and some structures were built with rammed earth in the style of rammed earth. The pagoda has an 8,000 m2 garden with 110 towers, which is the resting place of more than 1,214 Buddhist monks and nuns of the Lam Te Zen sect.
