Typhoon Yagi (typhoon No. 3 of 2024) made landfall in Hai Phong - Quang Ninh on the afternoon of September 7, then moved deep into the northern provinces, including Hanoi, Hung Yen, and Hai Duong. Many localities where the storm passed through left serious consequences for people and property.
Along the Hanoi - Hai Phong highway through the provinces of Hanoi, Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, a series of trees on both sides of the road were broken and fell.
According to observations, most of the trees along this highway were "broken" in half by Typhoon Yagi.
However, in the airy area of Hai Phong, many trees were uprooted and fell onto the road.

Hanoi – Hai Phong Expressway Management and Operation Company Limited said: Preliminary statistics as of September 18 showed that along the Hanoi – Hai Phong Expressway, there were 26,000 broken trees and 15,000 fallen trees.
The above company has confirmed the damage with the competent state management agency and is preparing to hire a consulting unit, along with related units to prepare a damage profile according to regulations to accurately determine the quantity. After that, the unit will submit this content to the Vietnam Road Administration.
After the Vietnam Road Administration confirms the damage records, the company will clean up the scene and plan to plant additional trees. For fallen trees that affect traffic safety, the company has directed urgent repairs.
