4 'luxurious' experiences for Vietnamese visitors to Japan

Visiting Mount Fuji by helicopter and spending the night at a floating hotel on the Seto Inland Sea is a suggestion for Vietnamese tourists who want to experience Japan in a "luxurious" style.

One of the five key policies proposed by the Japanese government in 2024 is to guide Vietnamese tourists to experience high-end services in Japan. The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) in Vietnam has made some suggestions about high-end travel experiences for Vietnamese tourists when traveling - something that few people knew about before.

Live like a lord

Staying at Ozu Castle in Ehime Prefecture is a culturally rich experience, highly appreciated by JNTO and recommended for Vietnamese visitors to try. The tour includes staying at the meticulously restored castle tower. Guests can learn and experience the life of Kato Sadayasu, the first lord of the Ozu region, such as wearing samurai clothes, riding a horse into the gate and being greeted by armored guards. The cost of stay is 1 million yen (about 165 million VND) for two guests, excluding VAT.

Overnight on the Seto Inland Sea

Overnight or sunset cruise on the Seto Inland Sea and stay in luxury cabins on the ship is another suggestion from JNTO for high-end travelers. On this tour, visitors can enjoy traditional Japanese cuisine and yoshoku, a Western-inspired Japanese cuisine, prepared to order and using the freshest ingredients from the Setouchi region. Guests can also enjoy tea ceremony prepared by experienced professionals or Western drinks at the bar.

Helicopter flight to see Mount Fuji

Mount Fuji is a famous destination that almost all Vietnamese tourists visit. JNTO suggests that tourists can rent a helicopter to see the highest mountain in the country and a UNESCO heritage site. The flight will start from Tokyo, passing through Yokohama and other cities. Tourists can see Japan and its majestic nature from above. "Seeing Mount Fuji from above is a magical experience," said JNTO. Helicopter tour prices start from 44,000 yen (nearly 7.3 million VND). In addition, tourists can use private jet services to travel to Japan flexibly with quick and private entry procedures.

Enjoy nature on a luxury cruise ship

Experience rich nature combined with exploring Japanese history and culture on the Seven Star Kyushu, a luxury train that runs through 7 prefectures in the Kyushu region. Passengers will have the opportunity to admire the ever-changing scenery from the large windows on the train, wave to the locals and be picked up and dropped off in luxury vehicles. The train includes 10 luxurious suites. The experience on this train is likened to the world's most famous and expensive trains, the Orient Express.

The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) defines high-end tourists as those who spend more than 1 million yen per trip, excluding airfare. They are also inquisitive, passionate about discovery, seeking in-depth knowledge for themselves, and valuing inspiration. "They are not only wealthy in terms of assets but also culturally knowledgeable," JNTO defines them.

In addition, JNTO also suggests new tours for Vietnamese tourists to refer to such as: a tour around Tokyo to experience historical culture, explore the Central region, From the city to the countryside: Switzerland in the heart of Japan, Going back in time to ancient Japan, exploring the ancient town and ancient village.
