Three hospitals including: Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital, Cu Chi Regional General Hospital, Thu Duc Regional General Hospital with a total capital of more than 5,600 billion VND were approved by the Prime Minister for investment in construction projects from 2021.
At the end of February 2024, hospitals are rushing to complete the project.
At Thu Duc Regional General Hospital, many new buildings gradually "appear" with airy, spacious, and airy spaces, inside workers are busy constructing ancillary works.
At Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital, the beginning of 2024 has changed a lot after more than 3 years of construction (2020-2021).
In the new 12-storey building with a capacity of 500 beds, there are now many departments accepting inpatients and outpatients.
Talking to Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Cao Tan Phuoc - Director of Thu Duc Regional General Hospital - expressed his joy and said that it is expected that by June 2024, the construction of the project will be completed and officially handed over to the hospital, and by the end of the year, additional equipment will be put into use.
"By the end of this year, all patients will be examined and treated at the new hospital. The hospital staff are very happy and excited. This is a motivation for them to study and work," said Dr. Phuoc.
According to Dr. Phuoc, to prepare for operation, the hospital has sent a project to the Department of Health to increase the number of employees from 800 to 1,500, and every week it will post recruitment notices for skilled and qualified employees to meet the demand when the hospital reaches 1,000 beds.
It is worth mentioning that, while before the hospital had not had many doctors applying, when the new facility was built, the number of doctors applying was very large.
Doctor Nguyen Thi Truc Chi - Head of the General Planning Department of Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital - said that it is expected that on the upcoming April 30 holiday, the new hospital will be officially inaugurated and put into operation.
At this time, all patients coming to the hospital are received for examination and treatment in a new, spacious building with modern medical equipment.
In January 2021, the new Cu Chi Regional General Hospital was started to build a new facility with a scale of 1,000 beds and 13 floors. According to the plan, the new facility of this hospital will officially come into operation in 2024.
Cu Chi Regional General Hospital has developed into a complete Grade I general hospital, with full range of specialties to meet the medical examination and treatment needs of Cu Chi residents and neighboring localities.
Investing 4,300 billion VND in equipment for 3 gateway hospitals
Previously, in September 2023, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council approved the proposal on investment policy for the project to purchase equipment for these three gateway hospitals with a total capital of more than 4,300 billion VND.
Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai, head of the Steering Committee for key projects and works in Ho Chi Minh City, has identified the project to equip three gateway hospitals as one of 10 key projects to monitor and continue to update.
