12 years of studying French, turning to become a preschool teacher

A few days ago, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education held a ceremony to summarize and award the city-level competition for excellent preschool teachers. Among the 10 excellent teachers who won first prize, there was Ms. Nguyen Ho Bao Chau, a teacher at Vang Anh Kindergarten, District 5.

Beautiful, lovely, loved by many generations of students, Ms. Nguyen Ho Bao Chau (35 years old) always believes that no matter what job she does, she will try her best, be creative and put a lot of love into it.

Ms. Bao Chau lives in District 3, Ho Chi Minh City. She said that since the first year of studying preschool education, the school has sent students to practice at preschools to observe actual work.

"I was assigned to do an internship at Vang Anh Kindergarten, District 5. My first impression was that the teachers were very professional and loved children. That initial positive feeling nurtured in me the desire to try every day to become a good teacher like them," Ms. Bao Chau shared.

After graduating, the young teacher coincidentally took the teacher recruitment exam during the District 5 recruitment period and has been working at Vang Anh Kindergarten since 2010. After 13 years working at this school, the teacher said that the job is sometimes very hard, the job of caring for, nurturing, and educating young children is not simple. But the driving force that always motivates her to complete that task well is her love for children.

"I really like talking to the children. I am often assigned to teach the nursery and nursery classes. At the beginning of class, I chat with the children to see what they are happy about, talk to the parents to understand more about the children, monitor their health, show them the duty board to see who is helping me with what today... I always believe that the first emotions of the day are very important, it will help the children to always be happy and have a day of studying and being active at school", shared Ms. Bao Chau, who has 12 years of studying French in high school.

Ms. Bao Chau's class cooperates with units to let children experience a day as a firefighter.

The teacher is loved by many children

"Everyone has their own pressures in life, their own worries and sadness. I believe that when I enter the classroom and meet my students, I need to leave all those negative feelings at the door and focus on the children in front of me today. I like talking to the children, listening to them greet me, and talking to me happily and innocently. This makes teachers forget what is making them sad. Everyone has a job to strive for, and for me, it is the job of a preschool teacher. I feel very lucky to always have the school, colleagues, friends at school to help me, and my family to support me," the teacher who is loved by her students confided.

Respect each child's individuality

As a young teacher, awarded the "Excellent Worker - Creative Worker" certificate, Ms. Bao Chau always studies every day to improve her professional knowledge, can apply more about STEAM, thereby bringing children many interesting activities.

The preschool teacher shared that she is always grateful to the school and colleagues who have supported her during many years of work.

Some of the activities in the city and district level seminars that the teacher has carried out include teaching time telling to 5-6 year old children (cognitive development seminar); teaching new lyrics to known songs to 5-6 year old children (music seminar); teaching 5-6 year old children to form math symbols...

Recently, in July 2023, when the Department of Preschool Education, Ministry of Education and Training visited preschools in Ho Chi Minh City to visit child-centered preschools, Ms. Bao Chau was the one who organized hours for children to learn robotic programming at Vang Anh Preschool, District 5...

"Each child has a different personality, strengths, and talents. Some children are active and talkative, while others are introverted and quiet... We always observe the children, interact with each child, and encourage them to play in groups so that they become more confident, bold, and learn from each other," shared the teacher who was just awarded first prize for excellent preschool teacher at the city level.

During her work, Ms. Nguyen Ho Bao Chau has been a district-level emulation fighter for many years, receiving certificates of merit for excellent union member, certificates of merit for "Excellent worker - Creative worker"...

Notably, in 2016, 2021, 2022, Ms. Bao Chau received the certificate of merit "Outstanding young teacher of District 5".

In 2022, the preschool teacher won the second prize for excellent teachers in District 5.
