(BGDT) - On June 28, the Military Command of Bac Giang province held the opening ceremony of the National Defense Sports Festival. This is an activity to continue to strongly respond to the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" in the period of 2023-2030.

Attending the event were: Colonel Pham Van Tao, Commander of the Provincial Military Command; Colonel Vu Duc Hien, Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command and 105 athletes from 15 agencies and units under the Provincial Military Command.
The athletes were divided into 2 groups (Provincial Military Command Agency Group, Regiment 831 and District and City Military Command Group) competing in 4 events: Strong Soldier (Pale bar, long jump, 100m run, 3,000m armed run); overcoming obstacles for physical training; armed swimming (100m swim with gun and light equipment, 100m swim with equipment package); men's team table tennis, women's doubles.
In his opening speech, Colonel Nguyen Dang So, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Provincial Military Command, requested the Organizing Committee to operate closely and scientifically; ensuring the most thoughtful care in all aspects for the success of the sports festival.

The referees must be truly fair, objective, honest, and in accordance with the regulations and rules of the sports festival.
In particular, athletes need to raise their self-awareness, strictly follow military discipline, regulations and competition rules. Proactively overcome difficulties, determined to achieve the highest results. Compete with the spirit of sportsmanship, nobility, solidarity, unity and honesty; ensure absolute safety for people, weapons and equipment and traffic safety.

The sports festival takes place on June 28 and 29. The Organizing Committee is expected to award 7 collective prizes and 48 individual prizes to units and athletes with outstanding achievements.
