On the first day of the new year At Ty 2025, the national players of Nam Dinh Club received big rewards from Mr. Thien for their achievements at AFF Cup 2025.
Within the framework of the AFF Cup 2024, the Vietnamese team had an impressive journey, remaining undefeated in every match, thereby winning the Southeast Asian championship for the third time in history. This success not only brought glory to the country but also brought great joy to millions of fans.
Notably, the Nam Dinh Steel Club contributed three players to the national team, including Nguyen Xuan Son, Nguyen Van Toan and Nguyen Van Vi. These three players devoted themselves, played with passion, and contributed to the team's historic victory.
To recognize the outstanding contributions of the players, Chairman Nguyen Van Thien decided to award three players: Nguyen Van Toan and Nguyen Van Vi each 500 million VND, and Nguyen Xuan Son was awarded a luxury apartment in Hanoi worth more than 1 million USD.

Nguyen Van Toan shared: “This is an extremely meaningful gift for me. I would like to express my deep gratitude to President Nguyen Van Thien. During the journey of competing with the team, the President always called to encourage and remind us to give our all. To me, the President is not only a leader but also a family member.”
Xuan Son's 'Papa' Thien
Meanwhile, Nguyen Xuan Son could not hide his happiness when receiving the new apartment. He emotionally expressed: “I am very grateful to Mr. Thien and the Nam Dinh Steel Club for this gift. My family is really happy. I feel extremely lucky that Mr. Thien always cares for and looks after my family. It is the encouragement and care of the chairman that has helped me gain more motivation and explode on the field. The chairman treats me like a son, and to me, he is papa."
Xuan Son's journey at the AFF Cup 2024 was not entirely smooth. He suffered a broken leg in the final match against Thailand, forcing him to take a long break from competition. However, he was moved by the attention and encouragement he received from fans, local authorities, and especially from Mr. Thien and the Nam Dinh Steel Club.

The 2023-2024 season also left a special mark for Xuan Son when he became the player with the most goals in V-League history, with a total of 31 goals. This achievement attracted the attention of a big club in Saudi Arabia, where they offered to pay him more than 3 million USD. However, Chairman Nguyen Van Thien decided not to let Xuan Son leave, keeping him to continue contributing to the Nam Dinh Blue Steel Club and then naturalizing him to be able to serve the Vietnam national team.
Xuan Son could only play from the last match of the group stage against Myanmar, but he still proved his outstanding talent when he won the title of "Top scorer" with 7 goals and was voted "Best player of the tournament".

This achievement earned him praise from Madam Pang, who publicly declared that she would recruit him if she were still the Chairman of Port Club. Two other teams in the K-League of Korea also expressed their desire to recruit Xuan Son through Coach Kim Sang-sik. However, Xuan Son affirmed that he would not leave, and wanted to stay with Mr. Thien for life, who always considered him as a son.
With their outstanding contributions and special affection for the club, Nguyen Xuan Son, Nguyen Van Vi and Nguyen Van Toan have become bright stars of the national team as well as the Nam Dinh Green Steel Club, bringing great pride to Vietnamese football.
