Laotian student makes achievements
In the opening match of the 3rd Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament - 2025 THACO Cup (TNSV THACO Cup 2025), Quy Nhon University played well, but could not take full advantage of the opportunities to score. The rookie of the tournament had to accept defeat with a score of 0-1 against the former champion Hue University. "After losing the first match to Hue University, we had to win in the second round, when we met Tra Vinh University. Therefore, we entered the match with great determination to win, to have a chance to continue", shared head coach Thai Binh Thuan of Quy Nhon University team.
Quy Nhon University played at a fast pace, pushing up their formation to attack right from the start when facing Tra Vinh University on the afternoon of March 4. In the end, coach Thai Binh Thuan 's team achieved their goal, winning 3-1 against Quy Nhon University. In turn, Duong Tri Truong (5th minute), Sen Senmeuang (40+2 minute), Truong Gia Huy (70th minute) were the names that scored, bringing 3 points to Quy Nhon University.

Among them, Sen Senmeuang is a Laotian student, studying at Quy Nhon University. Notably, Sen Senmeuang is the first "foreign player" to score in the final round of the TNSV THACO Cup 2025 football tournament.
In the 3 seasons of the Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament, many "foreign" players from Laos and Cambodia participated in the tournament. The first goal scorer in the Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament (in the first match of season I - 2023) was also a Lao student, Vilay Sayyalath of the Vietnam Aviation Academy team.
Rekindle hope to move forward
The victory over Tra Vinh University helped Quy Nhon University rekindle their hopes of advancing to the finals, after losing to Hue University in the first round. However, apart from the result, coach Thai Binh Thuan was still not satisfied with the playing style of Quy Nhon University players.
Sen Senmeuang was named the best player of the match.
Coach Thai Binh Thuan (white shirt) and his students are determined to get points in the final round.
“The players are still quite inexperienced when they first participate in the tournament, leading to a lack of reasonable physical strength distribution. We played well in the first half, but when the opponent got excited in the beginning of the second half, we could not control the game, were swept away by the playing style of the Tra Vinh University team and as a result conceded a goal. The coaching staff and the players still have a lot of work to do to improve in the coming time,” coach Thai Binh Thuan assessed.
In the final match of Group A, Quy Nhon University will face Ton Duc Thang University. This is also the decisive match for coach Nguyen Dinh Long and his team to advance. Coach Binh Thuan affirmed: “Ton Duc Thang University has the home field advantage, is familiar with the field and has a large audience cheering for them. They play quite cohesively and have many players with good physique in their squad. However, we want to advance to the next round and the goal is to get points in the final match of the group stage.”
