In the morning match of November 29, in group E , Atletico Madrid had no difficulty winning 3-1 in their away match at Feyenoord's field.
Atletico started well with the opening goal from a Lutsharel Geertruida own goal in the first half, before Mario Hermoso doubled the lead to 2-0 early in the second half.
Mats Wieffer then gave the home team hope with a goal to reduce the score to 1-2 in the 77th minute. However, Feyenoord's efforts were in vain when Santiago Gimenez scored an own goal to help Atletico Madrid win 3-1 just 4 minutes later.
In the early match of this group, Lazio beat the weakest opponent in the group, Celtic, 2-0 at home at Olimpico with late goals.
Ciro Immobile, who came off the bench, shone as he scored a brace to help Lazio win the match.
With this result, after 5 matches, Atletico Madrid has 11 points while Lazio has 10 points, far ahead of the 3rd ranked team Feyenoord (6 points) in the context that the group stage has only one more match to end.
Thus, Group E has officially ended with two tickets to the knockout round of the Champions League belonging to Atletico Madrid and Lazio, while Feyenoord won a place to play in the Europa League.
The final match between Atletico Madrid and Lazio is only a deciding factor to see which team will win the group, thereby avoiding having to face strong opponents in the round of 16.
In contrast to Lazio's joy, in group F , AC Milan caused great disappointment when they lost 1-3 in the match against Borussia Dortmund at San Siro.
Milan's sad day started with striker Olivier Giroud's unsuccessful penalty kick in the 6th minute.
Just four minutes later, Marco Reus punished the home team with the opening goal for Dortmund from the penalty spot.
At the end of the first half, Samuel Chukwueze scored an equalizer for Milan but that was all the Italian team could do in this match.
In the second half, Milan could not make any difference and instead conceded two more goals from finishing situations by Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and Karim Adeyemi.
At the same time as this match, Paris Saint-Germain had to be lucky to hold Newcastle United to a 1-1 draw right at home at the Parc des Princes.
Kylian Mbappe earned Paris Saint-Germain a point from the penalty spot in the 90+8 minute, after Alexander Isak had given the visitors a first-half lead.
At the end of the 5th round of the "group of death", Dortmund is still firmly at the top of the table with 10 points, 3 points more than PSG, 5 points more than Newcastle United and AC Milan.
Thus, Borussia Dortmund has officially won the first ticket of Group F to play in the knockout round of the Champions League this season.
The remaining ticket will be determined in the final round. Dortmund will face PSG while Newcastle United will "live or die" with AC Milan.
Also in the morning match series of November 29, in Group H, Barca also completed the goal of winning a ticket to the round of 16 after having an important 2-1 victory over direct competitor Porto.
Thus, up to this point, the knockout round has determined 10 participating teams including: Bayern Munich (group A), Real Madrid (C), Real Sociedad, Inter (D), Atletico Madrid, Lazio (E), Dortmund (F), Man City, RB Leipzig (G) and Barca (H).
Spanish representatives are dominating with 4 teams entering the round of 16 including Real Madrid, Real Sociedad, Aletico Madrid and Barca.
