Commenting on the market this week, experts said the downward trend still prevails as supplies from the new harvest in Vietnam begin to hit the market.

Experts say pepper prices may increase in the short term, especially if China, one of the largest customers of Vietnamese pepper, increases imports again. However, pepper prices may stagnate as supplies from the new harvest are gradually replenished.
In the world market, at the end of the most recent trading session, the International Pepper Community (IPC) listed the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper at 7,235 USD/ton. The price of ASTA 570 black pepper in Brazil stood at the lowest level of 6,850 USD/ton, while the price of Malaysian Kuching black pepper was the highest at 9,500 USD/ton.
Vietnam's black pepper prices remained at $6,900/ton for 500 g/l and $7,100/ton for 550 g/l.
At the same time of survey, the price of Indonesian Muntok white pepper was traded at 9,959 USD/ton, Vietnamese white pepper was at a higher level of 9,900 USD/ton and Malaysian ASTA white pepper reached 12,000 USD/ton.
