At the end of the 2023/2024 season, both Bayern Munich and Liverpool will change coaches. Coach Jurgen Klopp announced his farewell to the Anfield team after many years of association, while coach Thomas Tuchel has reached an agreement to leave Bayern this summer.
In their efforts to find a new coach, the leadership of Bayern Munich and Liverpool are both targeting coach Xabi Alonso, who is currently leading Bayer Leverkusen very successfully and has been associated with Bayern as well as Liverpool as a player.
However, recently, European media confirmed that coach Xabi Alonso is leaning towards the possibility of continuing to stick with Bayer Leverkusen. Therefore, Bayern Munich and Liverpool will have to turn to other coaches. Bayern Munich's honorary president - Uli Hoeness admitted that Bayern will almost certainly not be able to bring Xabi Alonso back as coach next season.
Meanwhile, British news sites claim that Liverpool have quickly turned to other faces for the team's leadership position. Currently, Ruben Amorim (who is coaching Sporting Lisbon) and Roberto De Zerbi (who is leading Brighton) are the most promising candidates.
