Mr. Trinh Ngoc Hiep - Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Health said that 5 samples tested positive for Salmonella bacteria at the provincial general hospital.
“All are being treated for the same gastrointestinal infection. Two days ago, two children being treated at Vinmec Nha Trang Hospital also tested positive for Salmonella bacteria,” said Mr. Hiep.

As of 3:00 p.m. on March 16, local medical facilities recorded 358 cases of poisoning after eating chicken rice at Tram Anh Chicken Restaurant (Ba Trieu Street, Nha Trang City). Currently, 245 cases (including 6 new cases) are being treated at 13 local hospitals and medical centers, 78 people were discharged on the same day.
Among the 358 suspected poisoning cases, there is one severe case, a woman who is 18 weeks pregnant. She is being treated at the Intensive Care Unit of the provincial general hospital. The patient is awake and responsive.
In addition, her abdominal pain has improved, and tests at 6am on March 16 showed that all indicators have improved. The patient is being treated with antibiotics, intravenous fluids, repeat tests, and closely monitoring her clinical condition.

Regarding the above incident, in recent days, the restaurant's representative has actively contacted the victim and visited the hospitals where the patient is being treated to inquire and propose the best solution. At the same time, the restaurant is coordinating with the authorities to find out the cause of the incident.
The representative of Tram Anh restaurant also posted an apology on social media and accepted responsibility. Tram Anh Chicken Rice announced two phone numbers they often use for patients to contact. Every time a patient is discharged from the hospital and contacts the restaurant, they are connected via Zalo to send the hospital bill.
Previously, on March 13, hospitals in Nha Trang City received 60 patients with symptoms of vomiting, fever, and abdominal pain. The patients said that these symptoms appeared after eating at Tram Anh Chicken Rice restaurant.
By 3pm on March 14, medical facilities across the province had recorded 222 suspected cases of food poisoning from eating chicken rice at Tram Anh restaurant. By 4pm on March 15, the number of food poisoning cases had risen to 345.
After the incident, authorities went to the restaurant to inspect and took food samples from the chicken rice restaurant for testing. The restaurant was also temporarily suspended to serve the investigation.
