Missile launchers, sniper rifles, anti-tank bullets, UVAs that seek and destroy targets... are weapons products produced in Vietnam, surprising many visitors to the International Defense Exhibition taking place in Hanoi.
Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 has the participation of 66 international delegations and more than 240 defense industry enterprises from 49 countries around the world. This exhibition shows that "Made in Vietnam" weapons have come a long way, with many products at world-class level. Among them, Viettel is the unit with the largest number of products with over 80 types in the high-tech defense industry including: Radar; optoelectronics; electronic warfare; military information; simulation training; command and control; UAV, aerospace; cyber warfare; cyber security and technology products in the civilian sector. In the photo is a simulation model of Viettel's high-power electromagnetic pulse suppression system. The product is considered by military experts to be one of the key weapons in electronic warfare, suppressing enemy command, control, communication networks and computer systems. The attack method of electromagnetic pulse weapons is to use high-power ultra-high frequency waves to suppress radio equipment, burn electronic components and microchips in command, control and guidance systems, causing high-tech weapons to be inoperable or deviate from the target to be destroyed... This exhibition also displays many types of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that attract many visitors. In the photo is a multi-purpose UVA with bombing function. Another long-range multi-purpose UAV produced by Viettel can fly continuously for 12 hours with a distance of more than 1,000km, equipped with high-precision attack weapons. This drone model can operate in all weather conditions, considered a technological breakthrough product of Vietnam's defense industry. The BXL-01 suicide combat UAV is capable of searching, identifying, tracking and destroying targets such as tanks, armored vehicles, self-propelled artillery, radar stations and other armored technical vehicles. In addition to UAVs, the "Made in Vietnam" guns and ammunition displayed at the exhibition also surprised many visitors. In the photo is a 73mm anti-tank bullet with a straight range of 800m, the maximum range on the sight is 1,300m. This product is manufactured by the Weapons Institute. THCT-105TM2 explosive reactive anti-armor ammunition complex. The system includes explosive blocks placed in steel boxes outside the main armor of the tank-armored vehicle, which neutralizes or reduces the destructive ability of anti-tank ammunition and enemy missiles on the main armor of the vehicle. The MK-140 missile, a multi-purpose, multi-purpose weapon with a variety of guidance systems using both laser and infrared, can effectively engage a variety of targets on land, in the air and at sea. Anti-aircraft ammunition from 30mm to 105mm is solemnly displayed in the exhibition booth of the General Department of Defense Industry. Notable products manufactured by Z117 factory include sound-deadening mortars and sound-deadening mortar shells. The products are equipped for special forces in combat, have the effect of causing damage to the enemy when fired and are highly motivated, secretive, and surprising. SBT-7.62M2 heavy sniper rifle with optical sight. Previously, in 2018, at Indo Defence Jakarta 2018, Vietnam introduced the first generation product of this weapon line, the SBT12 M1, which meets the technical and tactical requirements in the modern combat environment, surprising many Southeast Asian countries. The gun has a design quite similar to the powerful Russian KSVK sniper rifle. The SPL-30 submachine gun is also one of the many weapons that attracted attention at the exhibition. The gun is designed according to the principle of free-breech early firing.
Another notable product of Vietnam is the lightweight missile launcher system with main aiming components including daytime and infrared cameras; laser rangefinder; laser target designator; direction finding module; weapon platform balance sensor; global positioning system, sensors measuring wind speed, wind direction, temperature, humidity, air pressure... It can be mounted on the back of a regular pickup truck, configured to launch 12 guided or unguided MK70 missiles, 12 MK82 missiles or 4 MK140 missiles.
