Vinh Thanh joins forces to speed up progress of key projects

In order to attract investment and create new resources for local socio-economic development, Vinh Thanh is focusing on rapidly implementing many key projects of Can Tho City.

As the western gateway district of Can Tho City, Vinh Thanh has great potential for economic and social development. Many important traffic routes in the area such as National Highway 80, Cai San River, WB5 road connecting Thanh Loc commune, Kenh E - Thoai Son route, Lo Te - Rach Soi route, especially the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway under construction, open up new prospects for the district to attract investment, develop production and business.

The district has great potential for high-quality agriculture, food processing industry, and aquaculture with large raw material areas for domestic use and export. In recent years, the district has planned and gradually formed specialized production areas: producing high-quality rice in an organic and safe direction; encouraging the development of fruit orchards, crops, and short-term industrial crops; developing traditional food industries, etc.

In particular, in the district, there is Vinh Thanh Industrial Park with an area of 900 hectares, which has been approved by the Prime Minister to be added to the planning for the development of industrial parks in Can Tho City. Can Tho City People's Committee has approved the 1/2,000 scale construction zoning plan for Vinh Thanh Industrial Park Phase I, with an area of nearly 294 hectares, with a total investment of more than 3,717 billion VND.

According to the plan, Vinh Thanh is an industrial park with a synchronous, modern technical infrastructure system, environmental protection, sustainable development, focusing on attracting investment in industries with advanced technology, environmentally friendly and flexibly meeting the diverse needs of investors in terms of land use scale, expected to create momentum to exploit the potential of the district and city.

Realizing the importance of key projects in the area for local socio-economic development opportunities, the leaders and authorities of Can Tho City and Vinh Thanh District have been focusing resources and promoting propaganda to get people to agree to quickly hand over the site clearance to the investor to construct on schedule and implement the project.

Up to now, the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Project Phase I, through Can Tho City, Vinh Thanh District, has basically handed over the site to the investor to construct 100% of the project area. The project of the connecting road from National Highway 80 to Vinh Thanh Industrial Park is under construction, with the volume reaching 38% of the contract. The district is focusing on speeding up the progress of the project of the connecting road from the approach road to Vam Cong Bridge to Vinh Thanh Industrial Park and the resettlement area serving the Industrial Park (Phase I).

To continue attracting investment and sustainable development, Vinh Thanh district focuses on basic goals, including focusing on building and developing in the direction of advanced, civilized and modern new rural areas; attracting investment, rapidly developing industrial - small-scale industrial economy, trade - services; striving to achieve a total production value of 46,490 billion VND in the 2021-2025 period; increasing annual budget revenue by 5-10% and reducing the poverty rate to below 0.5%...

Along with that, effectively attract industries serving agricultural development: food processing, agricultural materials, seafood processing, animal feed, poultry; reorganize production to develop rural economy according to new rural criteria, solve employment, increase income and improve people's lives... Strengthen the development of product brands for consumption in the market.
