According to the report at the Congress, Vinh Thanh district currently has 20 ethnic groups living together in the area, of which the Bana ethnic group has 10,551 people, accounting for 97.78%; other ethnic groups account for 2.22%.
In the period of 2019 - 2024, implementing the Resolution of the 3rd Congress of Ethnic Minorities of the district, under the leadership and direction of Party committees at all levels, authorities at all levels, supervision of the People's Council, the Front and member organizations, ethnic work in the district has been strengthened, innovated and achieved many important results.
In terms of economy, the average annual total product value increased by nearly 10.9%; the proportion of agriculture, forestry, fishery, trade and services accounted for nearly 24%; industry and handicrafts accounted for 52.1%; average income per capita reached 39.4 million VND/person/year; the rate of trained and vocationally trained workers reached nearly 51.8%.
From the support fund of more than 151.7 billion VND from the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas, in the period of 2021 - 2025, the district has supported housing for 31 households, converted occupations for 396 households; implemented a concentrated settlement project for 48 households in K2 village (Vinh Son commune); supported the development of production according to the value chain, implemented a project to raise cows, goats, pigs, and hybrid wild boars for 232 households...
At the same time, the implementation of the National Target Program on sustainable poverty reduction, new rural construction, and socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas has achieved many important results. The work of Party building and the political system of communes in ethnic minority areas has always been paid attention to, focused on leadership and direction by the District Party Committee; the work of ensuring political security and social order and safety in ethnic minority areas and areas bordering Kbang district and An Khe town (Gia Lai province) has been increasingly strengthened and maintained.
The congress set out goals, tasks and solutions to implement ethnic work and policies for the period 2024 - 2029. In particular, the district strives that by 2029, the average income per capita of ethnic minorities will reach 2/3 of the average income of the whole district; the multidimensional poverty rate will decrease to 5%; 100% of ethnic minorities will participate in health insurance and be assigned to protect forests; 100% of neighborhoods, villages and 90% of ethnic minority households will achieve the annual cultural title...
Attending and directing the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh, Permanent Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the achievements of Vinh Thanh district in implementing ethnic work and policies in the period of 2019 - 2024. Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh suggested that in the period of 2024 - 2029, Party committees and authorities at all levels in the district need to effectively implement the resolutions and conclusions of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee on ethnic work in the new situation. Widely launch patriotic emulation movements associated with "Promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle". Determined to successfully implement 3 National Target Programs. Continue to effectively implement the policy of allocating and protecting forests and forestry land for ethnic minorities. Basically perfect cultural institutions, preserve and promote the fine traditional cultural identities of ethnic groups.
The congress voted to unanimously elect 56 official delegates and 2 alternate delegates to attend the 4th Provincial Congress of Ethnic Minorities in 2024.
On this occasion, Vinh Thanh District People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 10 collectives and 16 individuals with outstanding achievements in ethnic work in the period 2019 - 2024.
