On March 2, Cuu Long University coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City Association for the Support of People with Disabilities and Orphans and the Youth Union of Vinh Long Provincial Police to organize a program to provide free medical examination and medicine to more than 3,500 people.
Participating in the free medical examination and medicine distribution activity were 200 doctors, dentists, pharmacists, and medical specialists working at hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City such as: Cho Ray Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology,...
At the program, people are consulted and examined for general internal and surgical diseases; teeth, jaws, face; eye examination, refraction, vision measurement, making and giving free glasses to people with eye diseases; musculoskeletal examination and treatment,... Based on the examination results and instructions of the medical team, people are given free treatment medicine.
In addition, the program also supports free meals and gifts to take home. The Organizing Committee also arranges shuttle buses to pick up people from far away at the local gathering point to take them to the medical examination location.
According to Dr. Nguyen Thanh Dung, Vice Principal of Cuu Long University, this is the third year the school has organized free medical examinations and medicine distribution. Compared to previous years, this year the charity program is organized on a larger scale. The program aims to share difficulties with the poor, orphans and disabled, as well as create conditions for people to access medical services, raising awareness of taking care of their own health and that of their families.
