Honoring outstanding digital technology businesses in 2023

The total revenue in 2022 of the honored enterprises reached more than 7 billion USD, accounting for 43.75% of the total revenue of the Vietnamese software and IT services industry.

On the morning of September 22, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) held a ceremony to announce and honor the top 10 outstanding Vietnamese digital technology enterprises in 2023.

The program Top 10 Outstanding Digital Technology Enterprises of Vietnam 2023 (formerly known as Top 10 Vietnamese IT Enterprises) has been organized annually by VINASA since 2014. Up to now, this is still one of the largest and most systematic programs to vote and honor enterprises in the Vietnamese ICT industry in each field, and at the same time introduce them to domestic and international partners and customers.

In 2013, the IT industry's revenue reached nearly 34 billion USD with a total of 440,000 employees working in 13,800 enterprises. The software and IT services industry at that time contributed 2.8 billion USD in revenue, with more than 11,500 enterprises, a total of nearly 160,000 programmers; not only meeting the domestic IT application needs, but also initially placing its name on the world IT map. After 10 years, the IT industry's indicators have increased 5 times. The total revenue of the whole industry reached 148 billion USD, with 1.3 million employees. Revenue from software and IT services reached nearly 16 billion USD (an increase of nearly 6 times), software and service exports reached over 5 billion USD. The number of digital technology enterprises was 75,000 enterprises. At the same time, many new fields were continuously opened such as Social, Mobility, AI, Cloud...

Launched in early June 2023, the Top 10 Outstanding Digital Technology Enterprises in Vietnam 2023 program has received support and participation from 155 nominations in 25 fields from 97 enterprises. The evaluation council chaired by Mr. Tran Van Tung, former Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, and more than 20 council members including representatives from the Ministry of Information and Communications, technology experts, economists, business administrators, and journalists unanimously selected 104 nominees worthy of honor this year.

According to statistics, the total revenue in 2022 of the enterprises honored in the top 10 this year reached more than 7 billion USD, accounting for 43.75% of the total revenue of the software and IT services industry in Vietnam, with a total of 136,000 employees. The 13 "trillion-dollar digital technology enterprises" alone have a revenue of about 5.1 billion USD, employing 111,600 workers...

Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Phan Tam believes and expects that these digital enterprises will continue to promote the achieved results, pioneer in innovation, research and development, production and business; join hands and unite to carry out digital transformation, initiate digital life, and create new momentum for the country's socio-economic development.

Speaking at the event, VINASA Chairman Nguyen Van Khoa said that the Top 10 Vietnam Digital Technology Enterprises 2023 program witnessed many inspiring stories about digital transformation. Viettel Solutions has built 36 IOC smart operation centers, implementing digital transformation for 32 provinces and cities; OneMount Group is digitally transforming more than 100,000 grocery stores, contributing to the rapid digital transformation of economic sectors, helping digital transformation not be far away but have penetrated deeply into all areas of life. VNPT, MobiFone are deploying digital platforms to serve the agriculture and tourism industries with high efficiency...

“Many businesses have had growth rates of 30-100%, with some growing up to 2,800%. These are truly great efforts by the Vietnamese digital technology business community that deserve recognition and pride,” said Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa.

According to VINASA, despite the economic turmoil, digital technology businesses still achieved impressive growth. In the export service market, MOR Software and Savvycom grew 2 times, CMC Global grew 70%. The domestic market recorded large growth figures such as: One Mount increased 80%, Viettel Cyber ​​Security, FPT Smart Cloud increased 100%, ITSOL increased 90%. Many businesses are investing in research and development of new technologies such as: Semiconductor Chips, Generative AI, Blockchain.

Businesses in this group are present in over 20 countries, with tens of thousands of employees, performing digital transformation for businesses in the world's Fortune 500 list, such as: Airbus, Boeing, Unilever, Hitachi... and are partners of the largest technology companies such as Google, Microsoft, IBM, AWS...
