Speaking at the program, Chairman of the Hanoi City Association of Former Youth Volunteers Nguyen Van Dinh said: For the first time, the Association organized to honor 70 outstanding Association officials. This activity aims to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory and the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital.

“This is a meaningful program, effectively promoting emulation movements. This activity will be organized annually by the Association…” - Mr. Nguyen Van Dinh emphasized.

Currently, the total number of members of the City's Association of Former Youth Volunteers is more than 40,000, operating in 557 grassroots organizations. In 2023, the Association at all levels mobilized units, businesses, and philanthropists to visit and present thousands of gifts to families of martyrs, war invalids, and families of former youth volunteers in difficult circumstances; supported the construction and repair of 12 gratitude houses with a total amount of more than 1.2 billion VND; mobilized the donation of 129 savings books, with a total value of nearly 1.3 billion VND; and built a Comradeship Fund of more than 15 billion VND.

In addition, the City Association has paid attention to the movement of building and developing economic models with a total of nearly 2,000 members participating, creating jobs for nearly 1,500 people who are children of former youth volunteers and workers in difficult circumstances in the localities. In particular, up to now, the Association has established and maintained the development of 6 cooperatives of former youth volunteers in districts, towns and cities.

Launching the 2024 emulation campaign with the theme "Solidarity - Compassion - Innovation - Development", the Association's bases strive to achieve and exceed the target of helping 70 families of former youth volunteers in difficult circumstances to repair and build "Houses of Gratitude", by each member saving 1,000 VND/day to contribute to the Comradeship Fund.

At the conference, the Hanoi City Association of Former Youth Volunteers honored 70 outstanding Association officials, 9 excellent Traditional Liaison Committees; 25 examples of "Good people, good deeds"...

On this occasion, the City's Association of Former Youth Volunteers was honored to receive the Emulation Flag of the Central Association of Former Youth Volunteers of Vietnam and the Certificate of Merit of the Hanoi People's Committee; 79 collectives and individuals with achievements in the emulation movement in 2023 received Certificates of Merit of the Central Association of Former Youth Volunteers of Vietnam.
