Thanh Hoa province works with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee on organizing a meeting with Dien Bien soldiers.

Attending the meeting were comrade Pham Thi Thanh Thuy, member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; leaders of departments of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Provincial Party Committee Office, and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee.

The representative of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front presented the plan for the meeting with Dien Bien soldiers, youth volunteers, and frontline laborers who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu campaign.

According to Plan No. 836 of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the meeting with Dien Bien soldiers, youth volunteers, and frontline laborers who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu campaign was chaired by the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, in coordination with relevant agencies and localities. This is one of the activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory, expressing deep gratitude to those who contributed to the campaign, creating a historic victory that resounded throughout the five continents and shook the world. The meeting was held in Dien Bien province on a national scale, expected to take place in late April and early May 2024.

Along with organizing a national meeting of witnesses in Dien Bien province, under the direction of Comrade Do Van Chien, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front will coordinate with relevant localities to organize a meeting of witnesses in the provinces of the North Central region and the Red River Delta. The meeting will be held in Thanh Hoa province, scheduled for April 10, 2024.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Do Trong Hung and Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Lai The Nguyen both affirmed: The fact that the Central Fatherland Front chose Thanh Hoa as the place to organize a meeting with Dien Bien soldiers, youth volunteers, and frontline workers in the North Central and Red River Delta provinces who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu campaign is a recognition of the great contributions of the province, with its role as a great rear base in the Dien Bien Phu campaign. This is also an honor and pride for the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Thanh Hoa province. Therefore, Thanh Hoa province will proactively and actively coordinate with the Central Vietnam Fatherland Front and the provinces to organize the meeting, ensuring solemnity, meaning, practicality, thoughtfulness, safety and economy.

Provincial Party Secretary Do Trong Hung and Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Lai The Nguyen also gave their opinions on the content, program, and organization of the meeting with historical witnesses of the North Central and Red River Delta provinces; and agreed on the preliminary time of the event, participants, information and propaganda work, along with related work to ensure the event is successful.

Provincial Party Secretary Do Trong Hung emphasized: The 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory is an important event for the country and also one of the two biggest events of the province in 2024. Therefore, the province has established a Steering Committee to celebrate major holidays, and proactively developed a plan to organize activities on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory. Accordingly, the province has planned to organize meetings, exchanges, and honor historical witnesses who are Thanh Hoa people who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu campaign. However, the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has chosen Thanh Hoa as the location to hold a meeting with witnesses from the North Central and Red River Delta provinces, so the province will not organize a separate meeting of the province anymore. Instead, in the time approaching the anniversary, Thanh Hoa province will focus on organizing activities to show gratitude, visit, and give gifts to policy families who directly contributed to the Dien Bien Phu campaign.

On behalf of the delegation, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front To Thi Bich Chau highly appreciated the proactive and active cooperation of Thanh Hoa province in organizing the event to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory. At the same time, she sincerely thanked and accepted the comments of the provincial leaders on the content and program of the meeting to report to President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien.
